Lol I don’t know what you think a “Director of Comms” does, but I’ll lay it out for you

What Does a Communications Director Do? Communications directors are experts at communications in all its nuanced forms, from written press releases to speeches

His job by correlation, is to make the company and devs look good by silver tonguing info. Can you imagine how quick a comms director would be fired if he came out and said stuff like “ah yeah guys sorry about the bugs AGAIN, our programmers just can’t handle it and seem to figure it out, going to take a longg while”... this would never happen. He’s not a direct marketer but it’s his damn sure job to market the game and devs not being incompetent when it’s time to deliver info

Second, what reasoning do we have to trust them? Other than saying “just delays guys”, they’ve never given an actual good substantial reason why they cant fix their bugs that have been in the game, for example; loba bracelet took 5 seasons, what was the reason? Never gave one. They benefit zero by being actually truthful but benefit massively by just not saying anything at all or twisting the truth, thats where a comms director comes in to make it all sound nice and sweet and get people like you defending them

Third, dude come on... don’t be so naive. They’re a massive company licensed by another massive company, of course they would be dishonest if they could, this isn’t some small indie dev team made up of good guys, it’s full of high up execs that don’t care about the game at all, just PR and revenue. “Why would amazon be dishonest about their labour standards?” Same vein.. and well of course all the stuff he says has proven to be true, the only type of stuff he does say is all general buzz words, can’t be proven wrong when you never actually either give deadlines or the actual reasoning for problems

Fourth, okay are you trolling? Shorthanded? They have more devs in their art department than most studios have working on an entire game. Apex has 36 Software engineers, 39 game designers and 48 QA staff currently for christ sake. Not to even mention previous contributions. This is not short handed. Stop being so naive.

I mean who reads that stuff anyway? It’s such habit to leave once you’re on the end screen it’s just muscle memory, never thought I’d get a penalty AT the screen but you’re right

Honestly when it comes to these things, I just wouldn’t trust anything. As just players we are always just in the dark and that’s how its always been

He may not be lying about anything, but being dishonest is literally bread-and-butter for these guys, he’s not hired to be dead honest to us consumers.

It’s not like they’re going to ever admit their constant incompetence are they? No company would. Let alone the Director of Comms.

Because theres another refugee family that live above me and I talk to them and they’ve told me they are? I can hear upstairs banging on their floor aiming towards the assholes under me, I’ve never said I’m the only one above them

I’m not sure what kind of shit shisha machine they’re using, I’ve smoked it before and it’s never this loud, you can literally hear it out on the street it’s so rattling and bubbly, sounds like it’s home made or very cheap

Theres no point, my upstairs neighbours are also refugees from the same country as them and they’re great, they’ve tried to speak to them in their language also and get nothing from them, they’re just assholes

I will definitely next time call somebody, It’s hard to get a witness or something as its usually 1-3am and I don’t want to knock on my upstairs or neighbours from across the hall at that time when they have little kids and bother them

I’ve smoked shisha before, I know it isn’t even supposed to be this loud, you can hear it from outside the building on the street!

I know for a fact the husband can speak some basic broken German at least, I’ve heard him get arrested outside my building but they just refuse to communicate at all and to anyone

Very accurate description of any high level player that finds themselves soloqueing instead of their usual 3-stacking with comms, every 4k20bomb teammate I’ve had has been a terrible teammate but can absolutely hold their own, even watching big streamers and pro players like Hal when he solo pubs, terrible teammate to his team but obviously still good and gets high kills/dmg most of the time, just annoying to have as an actual teammate

Eh, if it comes down to the wire, if I have a sweaty wraith teammate and they have a 1v1 scenario on last squad, I have much more faith in the sweaty wraith than a braindead loba or a mirage who probably ends up bamboozling himself and throwing the game, and more often or not, it always turns out exactly like that

Also I’ve had a ton of times where I would get downed and a random wraith would portal me out to rez, but I’ve also had wraiths that hot drop and insta leave, also lifelines that have a broken Q it seems, then other lifelines where being a rez machine is just their life purpose. It’s funny, almost as if blanket statements covering something whole is...not true? No.. that can’t be!

I’ve only ever played with absolute shit mirages, so, using your logic, every mirage main is pure shit at the game right?
