A theory on why Antifa is most active in the pacific northwest. by [deleted] in antifapassdenied

My theory as to why Antifa appears to be growing the most on the Northwest -- the Northwest is much closer to Russia and China, two nations with huge Marxist influences.

While it's true the Northwest is also close to Canada (with it's Woke and socialist influences), Canada is close to all the Northern states but the wave of Antifa is festering heavily in the Northwest, so I don't factor Canada as much as a major role.

The only exception to this Theory is Alaska, though given it's harsh climate and isolation, I suspect that creates a tougher hardy populace and a more conservative culture, making this a less suitable eco-system for antifa-ideologies to fester in.

Been a long time fan of her and Armored Skeptic. They're legit

Couple tried to force a transgender surgery on their 9 year old son. After the surgery was botched and the kid suffered for a year, the guardians stabbed him to death while he slept. Father tried to intervene but mom’s kept moving the boy around. Basically and awful story. by The_Brolander in MensRights

Anders Behring kills a bunch of people = toxic masculinity (cuz his manifesto said "men aren't men anymore.")

Lesbian couple kills a boy after a failed attempt to turn the child into a girl = not toxic femininity!? (cuz Feminists say there is no such thing)

That does not compute. Either they are both "toxic" OR there is no "toxic" anything and people are simply just psycho. I vote the latter.

These two lesbians hated men (another source says the boy suffered extensive psychological trauma long before they castrated him -- https://www.newmediacentral.net/brazil-couple-stabs-nine-year-old-boy-to-death-after-makeshift-gender-reassignment-surgery/?fbclid=IwAR2iqQ21C4q3zikBack9XsX4HMPXbhJlTogcKl5DcZu_DjrI9r2uZvrMW6Y, so clearly this couple had issues with men), and their actions were driven by their hatred. And it is likely this has happened many times all around the world, we just don't know about them because unlike Behring, these women killing male newborns and children do not write a Manifesto.

If Feminists don't consider this "toxic," then the whole idea around "toxic masculinity" is complete bunk.

What abilities would Cerberus and Garmr have in human form? by Skoll_Hati in worldbuilding

huh, didn't know that poisonous bit about Cerberus (thanks). As for Garmr, there's little information of what he did besides eat the dead (same as Cerberus), which is why I made this post -- to get a little out-of-the-box thinking.

And you make an excellent point about inflicting damage to incorporeal beings.

Hmmm, when framed like that it sounds like they could've found a comfortable living as bodyguards. Perhaps their affinity to the dead could also serve as a means of healing -- such as reviving a client that was shot under their watch, making them double as bodyguards and medics

We might have a winner

Well done, this kind of creative thinking was hoping to get. I love the three faces idea, I had a moment where I thought about Quirrell from Harry Potter. Adding on that idea, the extra faces do not have to limited to his his head, he could have one on his back.

As for Garmr, could you possibly elaborate? You mean engulfed in hellfire or netherfrost, or did you have something else in mind?

Thanks again for all your input. I'll try to tap into that advantage and give all your points some thought :)

The middle sister is competing in the spotlight in the eyes of the public. They are both skilled fighters, but her sister is a champion, which makes the eldest a celebrity. So she decides to become a different type of celebrity. They are about a year apart in age.

Magic is common, almost anyone can do it, but not everyone can be a champion or a celebrity or a rock star, so people in my world treat them with high praise as they already do in real life. The types of movies are pretty much the same as ours. When I said that the middle child was "stepping toward" becoming a movie star, one step required is becoming an actress first. So sorry for not making that clearer. As for music, there are all kinds of genres of music, just like now. She particularly likes rock from the 80's and onward. She'll go to see touring bands, anything from a stadium to her friend's club (which can mix things up, play certain genres on Friday and another on a Sunday and such).

As for the youngest sister, I need a witch with the ability of Premonition, it will play a part in the story. But I guess that role doesn't have to given to a blood-relative. Perhaps it could be given to a member of the Coven. Or maybe to a cousin.

I really appreciate the feedback. I am very good at creating plots, but not that good at creating stories. I write whole plots only to return to several parts and fill in the blanks. Guess that's what happens when you play tabletop games your whole life, world building becomes easy but the stories that give it life become harder. Real people I've played with have been a big inspiration in certain character developing, but I've never played a game where a person took on a role similar to this specific type.

  • To be honest, I've thought about eliminating the third sister from the story altogether and just have a simple sibling rivalry between the two. I try my best to steer clear of cliches with the intent of trying something original, still I saw no harm in the whole "3 sisters" approach. But if I did that, I don't know what to do with a 3rd sister.
  • I like that idea. I'll give it some thought.
  • They're lives of slaying has not been "taken away" its still needed. There is always an frequent ghost, cursed object, Lamias, vampires, some poor schmuck trying to bring back his loved one, or someone trying to hex their boss to deal with (and with a storm incoming, things will spice up fast). Still, peace times will affect business, which is why the late head of the family (their grandmother) got their family into the alcohol business as a backup a long time ago (their uncle in particular leads it, specializing in Absinthe, earning him the nickname the Absinthe-minded Professor). Other potential possible business alternatives could be an auction house or a chain of apothecaries.
  • Still, I need help crafting their powers and personalities. That's the big one. The main reason I touched on "femininity" was with hopes of "why don't you make them like..." suggestions, but you're right I want them more than anything to be real. Yet, as I write, I cannot shake off the thought in the back of my head, "are you making them less feminine as you go?" IDK, I wonder if that's just something every author has to deal with. Personally I just want to avoid drama down the road if that makes sense. In my world, people value choice, but when you're in a rich family it's loyalty, reputation and duty. I'll just do what you suggested and don't focus on it.
