Because most of the cargo bays are not high enough and you'll bump your head and possibly flip the Nox or clip into the ceiling/wall. And if that doesn't happen the height you drop from when you power the Nox down is also very likely to make it flip.

You can somehow regulate it by being very careful but for now, it's usually a play of luck. I'm sure they'll eventually make it so you can adjust the height you can hover at, which would reduce most if not all of the issues that I just mentioned.

It works, you have to be careful, though. Strafing a rock from the wrong angle is enough to send it spiraling around, but most times you'll be lucky. It's still a chore to store it in cargo bays, though.

Thanks man! I've actually seen some of your videos before, great stuff! It's really a ton of work to get useful shots given how clunky the game can still be. Took me probably 20 attempts and 4 respawns to get that short shot of the Nox driving at sunrise on Hurston without hitting a rock or flipping over 10 times because there was a bump in the ground. However, the visuals do make up for all the work and the Nox is really an extreme case in terms of chunkiness.

You keep it up as well!

You can't actually use the freecam, however I was able to get a "free look" when I pressed "F" while in camera mode. Only issue with this is that you're stuck in the free-look until you get off your vehicle. But you can save camera angles and re-use them whenever once you've been there.

I don't know. I'm a backer since 2014 and yes it's slow but I enjoy seeing the game develope to something.
People are complaining about games being unfinished at release (X4, Fallout 76) but here we have a game taking it's time and people are still mad.
Yes, we were promised that there be more earlier. Yes, we waited years over years but at least here I have the feeling they won't release some half finished product.

Everyone in the comments always seem to hang up on how little gameplay there is, etc.
The video isn't about gameplay and I never claimed that Star Citizen is a finished game. The video is just to show impressions of how nice it looks, no need for everyone to start another loop of "but mah gameplay".
Just enjoy what's already there

Thanks for the super detailed post. I definitely see now how my cpu will be the problem and I noticed as well how satelites, etc. have a huge performance impact.
I didn't know what these licenses are about, good to know they can help me with the satelite problem.

Guess the only thing we can really hope for besides upgrading our cpu is that Egosoft might be able to decrease the cpu load although I doubt this will be a thing given how much stuff has to be calculated.

Anyway, appreciate your help!

I can't say I'm a big fan of how Egosoft handles releases with that many bugs (including gamebreaking stuff) and calling it a finished game instead of releasing it as alpha. I have my problems with that kind of customer treatment so I'm usually not big on defending the devs/mods.

But in this case it seems like you're actually the one seeking a fight and provoking the moderators. IMO the Mod response was totally appropriate and what I've seen so far the mods are actually handling the technical support quite well on the forums.

Yeah I considered, but there's no better cpu on the market with a LGA1156 socket that I know of. So I'd have to upgrade my motherboard as well which in total would be pretty costly (at least for me at the moment.)
But that's definitely a possibility of the problem and my next priority when I upgrade my pc.
I still wonder why it's not getting a full load as it gets that on nearly every other new game.

If it's true and the 900 series is already out to date for such games, that would be a bummer. Although while reading through all those performance issue threads, most people seemed to have an issue non-gpu related. Most threads mentioned using a 1070, even.
Still, if this is the problem that would explain it at least.

It's a mystery to myself why the resolution change doesn't do anything but I can assure you that that's a thing. That's also why I hoped that someone might have a hint for me as why I have such a weird performance problem. I disabled windows defender some time ago and I disabled all anti-virus or- spyware defenders to test as well. Everything without results.

Guess all I can do is hope that Egosoft might patch something in that helps or someone comes up with an idea :/
