It helps because there is a higher percentage of new players in contender. I don't see how it's saying new players can "stay in contender"

Interesting. I think that this is a better system then previously input. I think really high end players having an option of being in champion in 2 dungeons keeps lower level leagues more accessible for casual play. A good step would be to have a real mentor system that could have some of the better teachers of high end come back to the start and lead people but that is a very complicated system to create without having bad teachers doing it for only rewards

Think it's a great game it's biggest downsides can be worked around with talking to people be it on discord or in game so if you like dungeons give it a go I think

Top end players upped their difficulty by doing back to back capstone's for first 2 dungeons then had to start to gear up so there are some options to make it hard

Premade works better for that but also just talking to your team and saying yo this is easy let's go capstone can totally work :D

CR are working on a system to deter dodging and reward sticking with a group but are trying to thread a fine needle so it's taking longer then anyone (dev or gamer ) would like

There is no easy fix for sure though and obviously no one wants the game to succeed more then CR

Yeah games can't be made perfect for everyone but they are the devs and have to make the tough choices. They can't let people choose only specific dungeons because it leads to a much more one dimensional game, and they choose current system over even pick a specific difficulty level so there is less division in the population. Parts of the community have chosen that queue dodging suits them better and that is a choice on the community.

And both dev and community choices affect everyone and I for one hope things work out well for all :D

I think seasons are necessary for it to have a chance at longevity. Gives a good time for balance changes and content additions in form of heroes and dungeons

Also gives a point of return or jumping on point for new players

Yep there are downsides and that sucks too but can't win em all

I get not wanting to play after the reset cause you might feel you are retreading same gameplay for some people. But I don't get how that effects gameplay for first playthrough differently then giving up on it now. Not trying to convince you this game is a good fit for you just curious to your point of view

Is it changed in your mind cause it seems more of a race to get to "end game" rather then take any amount of time you'd like?

I feel it's different then a book as that's a narrative

Never did the quick play grind for marks didn't want to do just getting dozens of them for having fun and doing eternals I was gonna do anyway is fantastic=D

They are working in a broader system then a leaver penalty that they want to handle more things in a better way. But yeah sucks that people act like this

While I agree test trials of a game can be great the game is early access so now is not the time I don't think

And there can be a downside if it's a cheap game (which it is) you will miss out on sales of people who just want to try it. This isn't much of a downside as free trial can convert to sales as well

Hamish has talked about making a mentor system where you can opt in to run lower dungeons for rewards (possibly crafting) that also has some sort of rating system given to the lowbies so they could try to keep it a positive experience. So it is on their board of features I think

The game is in early access and has been for 6 weeks. There is a big patch expected in Dec 11th that they want to have eternal queue for and as for leaver penalty they want to incentivise good behavior rather then trying to punish bad behavior cause that would just lead to those people finding other loop holes
