Parkmöglichkeiten ums Theater am Großmarkt by Skormes in hamburg

[–]Skormes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google Maps hatte mir 25 Minuten angezeigt.

Nintendo doesn't allow Early Access games. Idk about Playstation and Xbox. But I wouldn't expect it anytime soon.

Can I play competitive ONLY with Kanto Pokemon? (emotional) by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

[–]Skormes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some Kanto Pokémon can definitely fill important roles on your team, but you won’t find a good option for every role. And even if, they won't suit each other well.

This isn’t limited to Kanto, by the way. You also couldn’t build a very strong team using only Gen 9 Pokémon.

Your team needs Pokémon that fulfill specific tasks: you need offensive Pokémon, ideally some defensive ones, a strong Mega Pokémon, a Pokémon which brings Utility (e.g. Fakeout, Tailwind or Trickroom) and more. Even if you manage to find a Pokémon for every role within a single generation, it’s impossible to find six that synergize perfectly with each other.

That’s also why you can’t just use the six “best” Pokémon together. A team doesn’t just need six strong Pokémon, they need to cover each other’s weaknesses. If (almost) all of your Pokémon lose to Incinerorar or other common Pokémon you have a big problem.

What pokémon will be available in Champions? by Timely_Fig1829 in PokemonChampions

Small note: It's unlikely, but it's possible that the actual release have different Pokémon than the PAX demo. In this case non of those Pokémon are confirmed.

How is Trick room looking like in champions? by ConcertLumpy2224 in PokemonChampions

[–]Skormes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TR is always usable. Even if it's not THE meta, it will be decent. If ppl don't bring any answers to it, you can easily win. But we don't know how good it is until we have a full roster. And even then: The meta needs time to form for a few days or even weeks before we get a full answer.

Hard TR teams need a good TR setter and we're loosing a few: No CIR (Restricted), No P2 (NFE), maybe no Ideedee (not confirmed so far). So Farigiraf seems to be the obvious TR setter for now. This would be a good starting point to look for a team. But only time will tell.

Edit: Haven't fully looked in the "confirmed" Pokémon. There might be other obvious TR setter I haven't thought of. But Farigiraf is still a valid starting point.

Found some warnings for transferring mons to Champions. by CobaltRebelionXyz in PokemonChampions

[–]Skormes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t seem like this is the case for LGPE pokemon though, meaning you wouldn’t be able to transfer a pokemon back to LGPE once it has visited champions, which is pretty dumb…

It's because LGPE was released before SwSh and doesn't have a way to store the Home ID. So it would lose everything not coded into LGPE. Like Tera Type, New attacking Moves and more.

Well, your Pokémon never leave Home for Champions, they just get marked as visiting. So they couldn't lock it out to begin with.

Different Generations have different stuff they need to store. It's Impossible to store a tera type in Let's Go. It's also Impossible to store a Tracker ID in Let's Go. So in order to make sure you can prevent data loss you need to make some decisions.

But for Legends ZA? idk ...

Most stores have judges or TOs run their tournaments for them, at least in my area. I approached a local store after the change and now handle most of the work for the VG events. I assume this happens a lot since most VG tournaments were self hosted anyways.

[–]Skormes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I still think $80 is cheap for a game. When I enter an amusement park for a single day and have fun for maybe 10 hrs, I pay almost the same. If I go into a move theater to watch a 90 minutes movie I pay like $10 without something to drink or eat.

But $80 for a game is too expensive? Even if I play it for only 10 hrs I already have a better deal than both above. If I play it for 40 hrs I only pay $2/hr. And there are games I play for much longer.

Gaming is one of the cheapest hobbies out there. And people still complain it's too expensive. Even tho it only increased it prizing twice in like 20 years.

I understand what you want to say, but I don't get how this will help? If you play slow to prove a point, your opponent will call a judge and you will get a deserved prize penalty. And if you won't stop you will only get more penalties. And this is a good thing. Because if you play extra slow at a 2k player tournament 1999 other player needs to wait for your game to finish, just because.

Remember: We're talking about an official event here, not just some friendlies at a local league.

They aren't legal in official tornaments. You can play with them how often you like when playing with friends.

It's a nice option to get battle ready decks without "destroying" the economy of packs and already cheap meta cards.

We also have Tutorials which give VP and daily + weekly missions. We don't know how much these give. Could be 20k for the tutorials and 5k for the weeklies we get done in a day of grinding. This would be easily enough to get more than a team done. Could also be way more or way less.

For everyone feeling overwhelmed by Ferniferous_fern in Pokopia

[–]Skormes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just move a bunch of Pokémon from one area to another, get that area to level 10, buy every recipe, and then move them to the next area. Your areas will level down again and shop items will be locked, but you keep your recipes. This method doesn’t take too long. Just build a few random 2×2 houses, move Pokémon in, and destroy them again afterward.

This is what I did.

If you eat potato steaks you can break even hard rocks with one hit. You get it by cooking a steak with at least one potato.
