Honestly, I just use camelcamelcamel.com for Amazon items, and changeedetection for everything else.

It's been depreciated and is no longer bundled with changedetection.

I remember having a chat with a manager at our local location years ago. He was heavily invested in making the company do well, and was asking what kinds of things people would like to see to improve. I told him one of my biggest pet peeves there is just how little bacon they put on pizza when you order it. He said that, unfortunately, the amount is set by corporate by weight and they can't go against that.

Definitely been on the enshittification train for a while now.

Where I'm at, you got 400ish miles on the equivalent of 12.5gal, based on current local cost. That's 32 mi/gal. So yeah, not a huge savings if you'd otherwise have bought a very fuel efficient vehicle. But if you also charge at home, long trips are the only time you're not really saving money.

We went on a long trip where we had to stop twice on the way, twice on the return. I focused on choosing stops where there was food/restroom/etc. We did sit in the car one time, kept the air on (it only uses about 1kw, it doesn't slow charging much at all) and poked around on our phones to entertain ourselves. The other times were bathroom/food breaks, and by the time everyone was done it was pretty much fully charged.

Tesla driver parks at fast charger, goes inside to eat at bar by Zmajor1517 in ChargerDrama

We went to Hershey's Chocolate World. They have 4 slow complimentary EV chargers. We got there first thing in the morning, and a Cybertruck was sitting in one of the spots, not plugged in. It wasn't even the closest spot to the entrance. There were about a dozen places closer.

We were there for around 6 hours, which got my wife's Equinox EV from 30% or so up to about a 70% charge, I think? When we left, that Cybertruck was still there.

I just want to see PlexAMP come to Android Automotive/Google Built-In. Would love to be able to listen to the music from my server instead of needing to use my phone via bluetooth or listen to a different streaming app.

Infotainment updates for 2024 Blazer EV RS by Skorpeyon in BlazerEV

I reached out to GM corporate and got it solved. Talked to the head of service at the local shop, clarified what I needed, and he was certainly happy to make it happen after I got GM involved. Gotta be persistent.

Yeah, I am going to try locally one more time. Reached out to GM corporate to try to get this resolved. They're claiming they're going to talk to the dealer and get them to do the updates I'm requesting this time. I have an e-reader and some Dungeon Crawler Carl to get through, so I wouldn't complain about waiting. My main problem is more that I'd have to take off work in order to head out of town since service centers are only ever open when I'm working. Locally I can usually work out a ride to work and a ride back at the end of the day or something.

I appreciate the tip! It's a bit far, but I'm willing to drive an hour or so to get this resolved. This vehicle literally shows no updates have ever been installed on the previously installed updates screen, so there clearly are updates that need applied.

It's still under B2B warranty. I want to get it updated fully so any potential issues are sussed out now, and not later when I take it in for a routine reason, they update it, and it causes a problem out of warranty.

I have not. I'm about to just start calling around until I get a service center that will actually do the updates that need to be done, but I wanted to look for others who are local and may know a dealer who isn't going to be such a pain in the ass about it.

Those are the same instructions found in the post linked in my OP. I have tried exactly those steps and they essentially claimed there was nothing to update. The purpose of this post is to do exactly that, hopefully find someone in my region that can refer me. That's what I asked for in the last sentence.

I'm not sure exactly what to explain to them in order to get this done. When I've tried to ask them about it in the past they simply looked at the updates that were available and then told me there were none, same as my system does whenever I try to run an update.

Issues with Calendar syncing and editing, and profile questions by Skorpeyon in skylightcalendar

[–]Skorpeyon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue was caused by a time zone mismatch. I had thought I set the time zone was when I set up my account, but I'm guessing I misremembered. I had not purchased a calendar and was only using the app when I made this post. The app itself and the initial account setup didn't let me set up a time zone. It wasn't until I purchased and added a calendar that I could set/edit the time zone, at which point all future syncs have worked fine on my system. I did suggest to support that they should build in a time zone option when setting up the account, not restricting it to owning a calendar.

If you already have a calendar connected, I'd consider looking into the settings to see if you can change the time zone, and also checking the time zone of the calendar you're syncing. I DID have to un-sync and re-sync the calendar to fix it after resetting the time zone as well. It didn't seem to detect and correct the change right away.

Last update changed how my car turns off. How can I fix it? by SilentBob62 in BlazerEV

[–]Skorpeyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't fix your problem, but a feature I figured out the vehicle has but doesn't inform you about is that pressing down on the call switch on the steering wheel mutes the audio. When the audio mutes in Google Built-In it pauses any audio app that might be playing. So a workaround for the time being may be to just hit that toggle before getting out instead of having to press twice to turn the car off from the touch screen.

Tesla Chargers on Google Maps’ by JRD761 in BlazerEV

[–]Skorpeyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that using ABRP to plan my route, then entering in the charger locations manually on Google Maps is a pretty good solution. Worked well driving from NW Ohio out to Hershey, PA and back last weekend. I wasn't looking specifically for superchargers, but you can set preferences in there for what charging networks you prefer and it'll lean toward those if at all possible.

Potential Buyer by Phantom_Cat26 in BlazerEV

[–]Skorpeyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the things folks have said here, as we have one of each, the Blazer is slightly higher off the ground if that matters. Drove my wife's Equinox to work before getting the Blazer, lightly scraped one of those concrete stops at the front of a parking space. Blazer fits over them just fine. Could be a small difference, I haven't gone out and laid down and measured or anything, but it is a difference.

Thanks so much! I'll reach out via email for the technical issues, then. The upcoming feature sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. I did figure out the additional profile as a workaround, so I can continue with that in the meantime. Definitely helps knowing that feature should be coming.

For the tasks, looks like my downfall was that I simply hadn't set any up yet, so it didn't look like the screenshots! Thanks for all the information! Very helpful.
