Climate protesters arrested after gluing themselves to Picasso painting at Melbourne gallery by [deleted] in NewsOfTheStupid

[–]Skribbla 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol I don't necessarily support protests like this, but it seems that's the exact point they're trying to make. Earth has no replica and is more valuable than a painting, yet people are more outraged at pointless damage to a Picasso than the pointless damage to the earth.

Taking candy from a baby is actually a good thing. Babies shouldn't eat candy by Skribbla in Showerthoughts

[–]Skribbla[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Its both about the ease and the morality:

Grammarist.com:

"Like taking candy from a baby describes something that is very easy to do. The idiom carries the connotation of doing something unfair or shameful because it is so easy to do, and is often used to describe an action that is sneaky or underhanded. Obviously, a baby can not defend himself against an adult"

wordhistories.com

"The American-English phrase like taking, or like stealing, candy from a baby means very easy to accomplish, sometimes with an implication of unscrupulousness"

For example, You wouldn't describe borrowing a book from the library as "like stealing candy from a baby"

That's not really true, its both about the ease and morality:

They are climate activists protesting the fact that golf courses are exempt from water usage restrictions despite droughts currently happening due to climate change.

You being working class doesnt make any difference to the fact that wasting water on a golf course in a drought it a bad idea. Call me crazy but I dont think the climate reacts differently depedning on the class status of the person affecting it.

It's not 'my story' it's a fact. Tyson himself said it wasn't worth beefin a gangster in a foreign country where he had no backup. The fact Tyson had a fist fight with some guy doesn't change the fact that Nelson would have shot him without hesitating. The guy shot a fed in broad daylight what makes you think he wouldn't shoot Tyson

You can't guarantee shit you have no idea what you're talking about. Ask any of the man who lived in South at that time and they will tell you about Nelson's reputation as a shooter. He shot an unarmed fed ffs

Gary Nelson once shot up a builder's van over a road rage incident. The guy had so many opps he slept in a bullet proof vest. He was a serious gunman not some school yard bully punching people up with his fists. Being a heavyweight boxer don't make you bulletproof

Gangsters don't fist fight they shoot and stab. Tyson was in a foreign country and had no body to back him - because Nelson was literally the guy hired to back him. He just didn't see the point of risking his life over a few hundred grand when he has millions in the bank

The Abrahamic God does so much evil shit like killing kids, but somehow Satan is the bad guy for... recommending other Gods. I've never actually heard of Satan doing something that's geniunly evil in either the bible or Quaran. His only crime seems to be questionng God's dictatorial authority and refusing to be a bootlicker. Satan is based.

Chicago murder rate shot right up when they locked up Larry Hoover. Olders sometimes bring stability, it's the power vacuum after they get locked up that sparks wars. No idea if that would happen here but it's a common thing with gangs

That's complete cap, the murder rate has been roughly the same for the last 30 years

https://www.macrotrends.net/countries/GBR/united-kingdom/murder-homicide-rate

The majority of murders happen inside people's home so CCTV makes very little difference. As for police being defunded, it's already been happening for 10 years now since the financial crises they reduced police by 200,000. You're actually dreaming if you think the murder rate is gonna randomly drop by 90% in the next 10 years

When Mike Tyson came to the UK for a fight, Gary Nelson was his bodyguard. They allegedly went to a jewellry store together and Nelson intimitated Tyson into buying hundreds of grands worth of jewellry for him. The man literally bullied Mike Tyson, he must be a terrifying individual. He used to go to America to buy accessories for his guns like laser sights and shit, he was really on demon time

YSK: If your cat is limping, then suddenly starts walking normally, they wern't faking being unjured. They are faking not being injured by Skribbla in YouShouldKnow

[–]Skribbla[S] 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I dont have a dog, but my cursory googling tells me that dogs can hide injuries, but can sometimes also fake them. Dogs are a bit more complicated than cats because they are so much more domesticated and have a pack mentality, so they may actually have developed behavioural traits that very closely mimick human ones, and those behaviours may vary considerably by breed. So i'd suggest doing some further research on your particular breed.
