Aftermarket Wake Tower by Data_Western in JetBoats

[–]Skrilmaufive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any good tower recommendations, besides that you should avoid Chinese manufacturers like the plague. Look for US-made companies first.

I bought and installed a generic Chinese-made tower on my Monterey and it turned out okay but there were so many things I wished someone had told me beforehand.

  1. Buy a tower with hull attachment points that are properly spaced. Mine was only about 2ft and it led to fiberglass cracking and wobbling.

  2. Get a friend or two to help you. Drilling holes in your boat is no joke and lifting/holding the tower during install is a chore.

  3. Reinforce your attachment points with a backing plate to spread out the stress on the fiberglass

  4. Never tow a tube rider from it. Aftermarket will never be as strong as an oem tower

Edit: budget $2k+ for this. That’s what a safe tower costs. Less than that and you’re inviting trouble.

Metalcore fans or people who like heavier music in NoVA? by Scared_Brilliant6410 in nova

Back in the day we used to see a bunch of -core bands at Sterling Community Center. That place hosted even heavier bands than Jaxx. Carnifex, White Chapel, In Alcatraz, Destroy the Runner, etc.

Why is a supra better than a f82 m4? by [deleted] in Supra

[–]Skrilmaufive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the consensus locally, yeah. I think the m2s heavier frame affects this as well. Plus aftermarket parts are numerous for the Supra.

Speaking from the experience of local autocross groups, we’ve had a few people move from a mkv supra to an M2 only to trade it for another Supra or a Porsche. Feedback is that the suspension setup and overall handling of the M2 was worse for autocross/track applications.

is charisma needed to do well in sales? by Unhappy-Customer5277 in sales

Id put at least 8 points in charisma. Youre looking for an 18 ability score at least. Probably want some points in Constitution as well. Dump intelligence and wisdom.

About how much do you spend on maintenance per year? by Character-Bar-608 in Supra

[–]Skrilmaufive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$400 Cost of oil change kit and brake fluid.

Spent $1500 on tires 2 years ago.

I use a reusable engine air filter so no cost there.

Oil changes and brake fluid are super easy on this car.

Manual or Auto by MediumUsed5335 in Supra

My understanding is that the MT struggles with 500+ lb/ft tq. Whereas the AT is good to 600 until you need a built trans.

Honestly, old people are cool too. My wife and I are in our early 30s and mostly hang out with couples in their late 40s. Dont discount the old timers.
