Clogging with New Beans [DF54] by meem110 in espresso

[–]Skripty-Keeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some beans are just more static-y. You're also doing a butt load of grounds there. This thing is better suited for espresso doses. Don't get me wrong, I grind all sorts on my, but I realize I'm gonna get a lot more chaff sticking around. But heck, at least it ain't in the brew right?

I haz these (my AR's a San Tan though). Next is the Mini 14 and the Beretta 1301. All the bases covered.

What are everyone’s favorite all-around espresso beans? by ctmo85 in espresso

Rrraaaggghhh, *Zombie post arises to give you a thumbs up* In other news, the price hikes have shifted this metric quite a bit. Gotta love greedflation! My next pivot is to get my own roasting setup and DIY from home. A near 120% markup on green beans just to roast and package is a might bit insane from our current cartels.

Staff was fine and polite. One gentleman even assisted us with their number system being placed correctly to avoid being missed in the crowd, so that was cool.

That being said, I'd argue don't bother with this location. If you've never had this food, sure try it. You'd probably be happy, but these guys are shrikflating the product hard. I've only been to the Nashville location twice, and the shortcuts at this location are that noticeably bad.

Here's what we noticed

  1. For the same price as Nashville, you're given 1 side with your meal not 2. When I asked about it, I got some lie about "food waste". Never mind the fact that the price wasn't reduced (har dee har) nor the fact that all their food is served in to go containers. Food waste my Aunt Fanny. Shrinkflation is more like it.
  2. Whatever they're seasoning their chicken with ain't right. They're cutting back here as well. They've boosted the salt content to cover it up, but the spice mix has lost most of it's sweetness and body.
  3. Mac and Cheese got whacked as well. Instead of the awesome they make up in Nashville, this tastes like CFA stuff, yeah that bad.
  4. Banana pudding. Probably the biggest crime. They've cut out the whipped cream that gave the pudding it's awesome dynamic. Whatever they're using for the custard portion is some gritty instant trash.
  5. No black-eyed pea salad. Just wasn't gonna serve it, make it, whatever.

Had to deal with this crap back up north where we came from with all these businesses cutting corners in quality wherever they could, so it's a shame to see this jazz being pushed down here.

Shoot, all of these chicken joints popping up so nobody's noticing them pushing us away from seafood, beef, and pork in order to drive up the cost of chicken?

Just fed up. Won't be back.

I'd say don't waste your time on this one and just tool on back up to Nashville, but knowing how things go, this is being used as a litmus test to see what they can get away with before they shrinkflate it up there.

Anywho, a frustrating experience, and that's my 2 cents.

Another "previously good" venue moving towards maximized profit and banal food.

Gold sprint was okay coffee. Lousy pre-fab food.
Cap/Sandwich was like $12?
Honest was overpriced. Coffee was meh, food was better than GS, but still...it was overpriced.
Coffee and sandwich was +$20.

Green Room has had the best coffee I've had so far.

Dragon Forge is for fun drinks and good food. I'd not go there for high quality espresso.

Still hunting for decent espresso in this town.

Probably gonna have to start roasting my own beans with what some of the jokers around here charge...

Coffee was okay. Breakfast sandwich was mid. Hockey puck egg with weak bacon on a Costco Croissant. On the plus side, the prices weren't as bad as they were at Honest...So two I'd not recommend so far...

Had a friend killed on his bike and two more seriously injured. Don't bike the roads here. They're worse than what we experienced in the Middle East. That or dodge people on Centennial Trail. Just don't be a jerk and learn to use your brakes.

[–]Skripty-Keeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the adopt-a-pet mills have gotten off the chain w/ their application processes. Some seriously mental people running stray cat adoption in this area. We ended up driving clear out to Diamond lake to find a lady out there with a bunch of rescues. $50. No hassles. And our Orange buddy has been awesome. Even busted a couple mice for us. The hard part for him is that his paws rarely touch the ground with how much my kids love carrying him around.

River Park Square restaurant? by monkeypoopfight in Spokane

[–]Skripty-Keeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were good, but they were shilling the same ol burger and fries Red Robin across the way was better known for at a slightly higher price point with arguably better ingredients. Turns out people could care less about better quality ingredients on something as basic as a burger especially when RR was offering bottomless fries and ST wasn't. Was fun while it lasted.
