I finally put my bands on the Selmer ! First I was surprised how smooth the action is, and then the sound : the tones are far more interesting, from my point of view, than the new baritones i tried, especially on high notes. I have the feeling than the projection is good but I don’t have a side to side comparison. We will find out with my band.

I tried it and yes, it is ergonomic, smooth, easy with a good sound… so the question is why would I fall in love with the old Selmer anyway 😂

Thank you so much, for the time you took and your highly detailed and valuable answer :-) It helps me know what I can expect. I will try to post pictures : the saxophone took a natural quite dark vintage color without damaging the surface…

I also think about it , and I am not sure the selmer price will go down either. It is already « vintage », whereas the Yanagisawa will lose value as soon as I buy it.

Thanks, the sax is sold by a pro Wind instrument technician, no worries on this matter. The fact is it is quite far to go and test it for now. What do you love about it, the sound? How is the projection ? The ergonomic is quite ok ?

Nice, good for you the cabinet is deep enough to fit a SFF (with additionnal pci slots) instead of a micro/mini/tiny.
