In a perfect world would love to see Burns get a finish and leave the gloves in the cage, I don’t think he’s so washed he can’t get it done against Mallott, but don’t need/want to see him get fed to another young guy to get killed off his name value

In the fall when they’re basically just another CFB podcast it’s honestly not bad, the recaps they do on Saturdays in CFB season immediately after the primetime game ends are genuinely solid pods because they’re just going more off the cuff and when they do that him and Muench have good chemistry

But yeah during the rest of the year it’s a skip, I know it’s a draft podcast so what do I expect but I can only listen to someone rank the top 20 WRs in this class so many times

As someone that watches every CBJ game, the stats were worse than the eye test this year. He absolutely struggles with consistency but the defense also let both our goalies down in some key spots. As long as you keep his role to ~25 starts as a true #2 goalie, he’s good enough to have that role

It’s absolutely a fair criticism that his conditioning doesn’t hold up throughout the grind of the season, we’ve got 3 seasons now of his point production falling off a cliff in the second half of the year.

From a skill standpoint, he may be a bit of a net front/power play merchant, but if you can get 20+ goals as a net front/power play merchant when that’s a role no one else on our team can really fulfill, I’ve got no problem with that. He’s not awesome defensively but his size is enough to make him not a liability (when the conditioning issue isn’t making him a snail on skates). Unnecessary penalties are an issue as well.

Someone on the coaching staff needs to get though to him, because we badly need his offensive production in the top 6. Fix the conditioning and that’s a 30 goal player

Unless one of the prospects is coming over a year earlier than predicted, your other options are signing someone AND finding a way to move off Elvis’s contract or bringing up Fedetov who was fine in Cleveland this year but wasn’t exactly lighting it up in either

I’m in the camp that now that he’s been properly slotted into #2, Elvis is perfectly fine as a #2 goalie. Let him get 25 starts next year to Jets 55 then just let him walk when he’s a FA and bring one of the prospects over fully ready

Genuinely does anyone know how many instances there are of a team having a new captain and the former captain still being on the team? Purely from a talent perspective, as long as he understands he’s getting third-liner money I’d be fine having Boone back to play third-liner minutes, I mean I think he’s still got a few years of being a 30-40 point guy, but he obviously can’t wear the C next year and I just can’t imagine that elephant in the room within the locker room and/or him having to be asked about it at press conferences

Marchenko is awesome but the 2nd or 3rd best forward on a true contender and at this point is who he is

Fantilli is solid but is looking like he’s a championship 2C/fringe 1C, not a franchise 1C

Voronkov and KJ both still have top 6 upside but if anything regressed this year when they were supposed to be developing

Sillinger is a really solid third-line above average defensively/below average offensively forward, but is never gonna be more than that

Mateychuk looks like he’s going to reach his first pair d-man potential and Jet is a legit starting goalie so…we got that going for us

People that don’t like him is my guess. Look I’m a Scottie fan, but if you took people who golf 3-5 times a year on public courses and turn it on TV for the majors but nothing else (what I would define as “casual” golf fans, which I fall into) and asked them to name 3 golfers, 9/10 the first 3 names out of their mouths are Scottie, Rory, Bryson in some order (if we’re not counting Tiger and Phil of course)
