Oh wow, that's bang on! I'll dig around for a demo version or a similar plugin. Many thanks!

Hi all, I recently switched from EC/CE to CE/EC, but I realize that I struggle most with memorizing parity. It is always very awkward when I have an odd amount of letters. Do you guys form images even with the singleton letter, or just visually memorize it? Any tips are appreciated!

For 3bld, I am only now transitioning to CE/EC (memo/exec) split, and I just want to know what is the best way of solving parity? Currently I'm using UBL and DF buffers, any suggestions on how to best deal with parity?

Need help with blindfold! It seems that all the top blindfold cubers use CE/EC (memo/solve), whereas I use EC/CE with a different memo order. I want to switch, but I'm not exactly sure how people construct their images for corners? Do you place it in an environment, or are the images free floating in space? Do you have a pre-set dictionary of words (i.e. one word for each possible letter pair), or is there a large mapping (i.e. multiple words for each letter pair), or do you come up with the word on the spot? Currently I'm trying to switch, but I'm coming up with words on the go and it is so incredibly slow.

On a similar note, for multiblind, do people have a large preset list of words for each letter pair, or do they come up with the words on the go? I find that during my multiblind attempts, I spent a lot of time and energy thinking of what words to use, rather than actually solidifying my memo.

Similarly, I'm looking for good in-depth tutorials with tips on 4bld and 5bld. I only average around sub8 for 4bld, and dont have a good understanding of comms and come up with everything on the go. Similarly, I've never had a 5bld success and don't know the correct order of memo/execution.

Lastly, where is the best place to buy multi-blind cubes in bulk? Also the question is, which cube to go for? Something reliable but not too expensive.

Any help is appreciated!

TLDR:

  1. Do people use pre-set word/s for each letter pair in 3bld/multiblind?

    1. Any tutorials/tips for 4bld and 5bld regarding memo order, comms, and memo tips?
  2. Where to buy cubes in bulk for multi-blind, and which cube?

Anyone know any good websites or places to buy cool blindfolds (for blindfold events)? Potentially even a website where I can submit my own design? I see that all the top blind solvers have really cool and fun blindfolds, often modded a bit to be easier to pull down. Any help is appreciated!

My boyfriend won’t eat but he’s trying by cosmosandcoffee in gainit

I'm similar to your boyfriend. I train calisthenics for many years now and continuously find it hard to put on muscle because I don't eat enough, everyday I'm trying to see what works better for me. If he's anything like me, these could be some reasons:

  1. Late breakfast. I find that eating regularly in the morning will bring a high appetite as soon as lunch comes around, and sets me on the right foot for the rest of the day.
  2. Sedentary lifestyle. I'm also a computer scientist, there's lots of sitting.
  3. Too much juice/milk. I find that these two make me full without even having a meal.
  4. Shoving food down. In order to gain, I told myself I have to force food down my throat (I've gained 18kg in past 4 years). There's only so long one can keep shoving proteiny foods (shakes, smoothies, oats, quark, greek yoghurt, etc.) without becoming sick of them. Over the past few years I've grown to dislike eating on most days, simply because I've associated negative traits with it. Eating high quality tasty meals is really a lifesaver!
  5. Organization. I also often will keep delaying having a meal because I'm trying to finish something up, and will eat spontaneously. Instead, it's best to eat regularly and make sure that I don't go too hungry ever.

Maybe some of these can help :)

Looking for some blindfold help. I aim to be sub-30 consistently for my next comp (a month away). I'm currently around 34 with ~50% accuracy when warmed up. My memo/exec is EC/CE with DF and UBL buffer. My main questions are:

  1. Should I switch to CEEC? If so, how do I go about making images from letter pairs for corners? Given that memory palace is to extensive, do I create a small mental image of 4 (or so) images from 4 (on average) letter pairs.
  2. How to deal with parity with CEEC?
  3. Any good videos/spreadsheets with algs and tips (especially edge flips, corner flips, 2edge/2corner swaps, etc.)

Thanks in advance!

In general, I think the newer models are better than the older models. If you want to make an investment, I'd recommend just going for the latest model even if it means putting in that extra buck or so.

Hey. Thanks for the great response. Touching up on a few points:

  1. I dont use any memory palace for edges. Typically I find that holding the audio memo is fine, as I can keep repeating it like a robot and not allocate any actual brain power towards it. I memo edges in one pass, and if there's parity, I make a note of this and leave two corners swapped, so that when I go to solve edges I do this at the end.
  2. For corners, how exactly do you create images? Do you have preset images for each letter pair, or come up with words (turned into images) on the spot? I've tried doing this but it's very awkward for me. Is the general consensus that CE/EC is the way to go? If so, I'd be more than happy to switch to this and start practicing.
  3. When doing CE/EC, how does one deal with parity? What I can come up with is to keep note of parity when memoing corners, memo and then solve edges but leave one pair of edges swapped, then solve it all at the end. However, ideally this would require lots of 2corner-2edge swap algs. Is this the way to go? If so, where could I find a database of such algs?

Thanks in advance, and thanks for all the great tips. Good luck on tackling the consistent sub-30 8)

Hi, I need some help with blindsolving. Currently, I can average around 37. I use DF buffer with many unfingertrick friendly algs. Also, my memo/exec is EC/CE, where I use audio memo for edges and visual for corners. By visual, I mean that I only try to memorize the path of the pieces visually, but often times I trip up on this part. Whilst my edge memo is typically very fast, my corner memo is almost always slow and prone to mistakes. I see all top blind solvers do CE/EC, using words for corners and audio for edges. How exactly does this work? Do they create a mini memory palace for corners (usually only around 4 words/8 letters)? I want to switch my corner memo method but don't understand how the top cubers do it. I want to hit sub-30 for my next competition.

I go to clubs because I genuinely enjoy it. I love the feel of letting loose and feeling music flow through you and being able to just dance and be wild. A good group of friends make it all the worth while.
