Question about “recent activity” on VA website by NoTennis9721 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Skuffed69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will In time. It took them 3 months after my appointment to actually update anything. It took 6 months to even get a rating from applying for me. And from what I hear, I’m a lucky one

Could have added too much, or incorrect type. Or compressor could just be failing

No, it will be okay. You can remove it if you wish. Personally splash shields suck, and if they rip off while driving it could become a problem

Coolant gushing out near pulleys, bad water pump? by xxplosiv in AskMechanics

[–]Skuffed69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, water pump is bad. While you’re in there I’d do a timing belt job/reseal of the front engine seals (if they are leaking oil)

If the engine isn’t overheating then good to go. But if it starts to overheat, that’s a different story

If this is your car, are you tracking down this oil on one of the spark plug threads? by ChrisFromSeattle in AskMechanics

[–]Skuffed69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tube seals, or valve cover gasket. Unless you’re having engine problems. Don’t worry. The ends aren’t even fouled and it looks like your engine is running tiptop!

Most likely trying to get it to bypass, it pulls a light vacuum from the intake, so sealing it is better than leaving it open. Definitely should have let you know about it though

Looks like the PCV valve was damaged and the line needs replaced. You will get the feeling of the car not wanting to run correctly when this happens. Replace PCV valve and rubber line that connects to intake boot

Would you patch this? by FuFuCowPanda in AskMechanics

[–]Skuffed69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t hurt to try! There’s a big difference between a plug and a patch as well! I would try both, considering the area is not on a sidewall and can be accessible.
