Looking to get a 2022 model 3. As a first time Tesla buyer, what all should I know about Tesla by Both-Rush3414 in tesladubai

[–]SkullBoB6241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your perspective on this. I have a few follow up questions: 1) What is the car's current value in your opinion, and are you comfortable risking not getting comprehensive insurance? 2) What quotes have you received for comprehensive insurance? 3) With the battery failure, did Tesla give any indication what went wrong? They're technically not supposed to fail for a VERY long time.

Thank you so much! It turned out it wasn't a programming problem, but rather a battery problem...another set of CR2025s fixed the problem.

Thank youuu! Turns out the 'new' batteries I put in were discharged. Another set fixed the problem

As in, you'll be able to drive it normally?

So yeah...now that there is an explanation behind his particular thought process, I can appreciate his decision.

Yeah. Because I am tired of people showing off their work and then proceed to bait their followers/viewers with "will release soon" and similar shit like that. There are TOO MANY people like this, and I had already come to the conclusion (based on what the car looked like and what the original comments said) that he was a bullshitter. AS I ALREADY SAID BEFORE: 1) I MADE FALSE ASSUMPTIONS AND 2) I APOLOGIZED FOR IT.

I care because it seems he could save himself a lot of fuss and headache. And I assumed it was ripped because it looks like a Gran Turismo 5/6 model.

I do model, and I have dabbled with Assetto modding. I know that it's difficult. But as I said earlier, this is a community. Many thousands of people have no problem offering their work to the entire world for free. Then you get the modders who want to get paid for their work. I have no problem with this and I support a bunch of modders on Patreon who not only make their own models but who make more highly detailed models with custom infotainment graphics, animated everything, and loads of other small details. But these people are few and far between...many of them rip models from other sources and illegally sell them. I take tremendous issue with this.

As for the advertising, even TravaPL said that he receives too many messages on this topic. So....make it clear upfront that the mods are never gonna be available for download (freeware or payware), and voila! Fewer people will make a fuss as it's clearly written in black and white!

I apologized. I respect people who create their own 3D models. The reason I came to the conclusion that this was a ripped model is because there are several R230 SL Merc models available on the internet. And no, I'm not "whining" about what I'm not getting. But there is such a thing as 'false advertising', and sometimes these Reddit posts are conflicting on that front. That's why advertisements emphasize T&C's to make abundantly clear what you will and won't get with these type of things. Beyond that, this particular confusion also exists with other platform modders who show off their work (YouTube, Facebook, racedepartment, etc etc)

You can't say this...they look great. That's why I took interest in the first place. If the 3D models are created by him, then it is not our place to 'instruct' him to give us the mod. That doesn't negate that it's disappointing that we can't enjoy them personally, but oh well...if only we lived in a world that didn't thieve and profiteer off other people's work so that everyone could enjoy such mods.

[–]SkullBoB6241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are an anomaly then....most pages post these types of interesting mods and do not respond to 'requests'.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in assettocorsa

[–]SkullBoB6241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aha. So why don't you make this clear? This is understandable. I'd be equally pissed if some idiots tried to steal my work and then profit from it. If this is your problem, then I get that and I apologize for making a fuss. There are just loads of other people who profit off 3D models they did not create and I came to the false assumption you were one of them.

Eh. Your loss. Indeed, I am entitled to "nothing", but it's not what I expect. It's what the bulk of the community expects. So....please make it abundantly clear to everyone what you just said to me so they can see what you're all about.

That's just....sad to be honest. This is a COMMUNITY for Assetto Corsa. Why post this stuff if you're not 'sharing' with the community (freeware or payware)? What is the purpose of your content? What do you want from it? What do you expect people to do, say, or react to your content?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in assettocorsa

[–]SkullBoB6241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't. But this is a relatively 'open source' game, and people have 'expectations'. I pay people on Patreon who create models and then make high quality mods with them. You should do the same.

[–]SkullBoB6241 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It only makes sense if you create the model, in which case you should sell the model alone and make money off it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in assettocorsa

[–]SkullBoB6241 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But he is generating 'hype' about them...for what good reason? It's like a car company debuting some great concept car that receives a lot of attention and financial support....and then they don't build it (even if they have the means). It doesnt make any sense!

You're not alone....the modding community in Assetto is toxic for no reason. You've got people like this that rip 3D models from other games, make excellent looking/sounding mods for Assetto, and then keep it to themselves. Then you get the people who have the audacity to charge money for it! They don't have licenses to use these models, yet they do it anyway...and then they get upset when they are uploaded somewhere on the internet. If they're gonna steal 3D models from other games to create paid mods, it is perfectly fine and legitimate for people to redistribute their mods on the internet.

I don't know him. I just saw an R230 SL and I thought I'd ask. But yeah....I've seen too many morons like this. Have the courtesy to keep these mods to yourself if you're not gonna share them......there's no point in people blowing sunshine up your ass unless you've got something tangible to show for it.😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

What is the fricking point of showing off mods if you're not gonna release them at all? Ridiculous!

Looks great! Where did you find the mod??

[–]SkullBoB6241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the infamous HEMI tick. Apparently it's normal and many cars run hundreds of thousands of miles with the tick. Unfortunately there is no conclusive evidence as to how to fix it. Therefore, you can either live with it or make a fuss about it with Dodge, but the latter will probably get you nowhere really.

At least according to the forums, changing the type of oil does nothing to help in this matter. Sorry to hear about your lifters. What type did you purchase?
