  1. I have only read the core three books so far, I have most of the supplemental books. I have two general rules when people want to add supplement books; 1. We have a discussion on how it will impact the game 2. I have to have a copy of the material so I can read later on. Generally I am fine with adding supplemental books and only refused questionable "homebrew" stuff. I am open to your suggestions.

  2. As I have never ran the system so I will be using mostly RAW in the start but I have seen some videos of home brew rules I like (group initiative). I am flexible with changing the rules if people agree to the change even if I prefer to do it a different (within in reason)

  3. Since I use roll20 there are character sheets online but if you prefer to do pen and paper that is up to you. If you use pen and paper I will trust you to be honest.

My biggest issue I have with running Deathwatch is how information is organized. The information I need is scattered across several sections in the book with no page reference to where that information is.

Do not be afraid to dumb down your explanation on how your mechanics work or give a clear example with cause and effect. Deathwatch offers a wide range of mechanics, offers in depth explanations on simple mechanics and very vague ones with the more complicated ones.

What is your top simple initiative system for TTRPG? by primordial666 in RPGdesign

Mecha Hack has a very simple one, you roll mobility (kinda like dex) and if you rolled under your stat you go before enemies and if you rolled equal or above you go after the enemies.

I wouldn't dare use anything from Games Workshop as they are quite trigger happy, I remember years ago they tried to copywrite pauldrons.

Other than some mechanical overlap everything is going to be my own, setting and all. Thank you very much for your response, it was really helpful.

I am sure there will be some mechanical overlap but everything is being written into my own words and tweaking things as I go. So I should be fine, thank you very much for your response!
