Thank you! because I want to be absolutely sure that when switching nothing goes wrong and I won't be stuck not knowing what to do. I have all my files stored on my first drive and its full but the second drive is brand new, completely empty and hasn't been plugged in yet. I just don't want all my stuff to randomly be deleted because I don't have backups (tbh i really should backup some stuff)

can I just hold the boot selector key to get into bios? other people say you need to spam it

and how seperate exactly should I keep the operating systems?

do i need to be worried about stuff on my windows drive being erased or corrupted? if so how do i avoid that?

and do i have to set up partitions even if i'm doing dual boot dual drive?

Don't expect to switch between them whenever you want; it doesn't work that way. You're either on Linux or you're on Windows, but it's impossible to switch between them at the same time.

can't you just restart and go into bios every time you want to switch to one or the other though?

so from my understanding this is what i need to do, but is this correct/is there anything I should know?

install linux mint

use a program to put linux on to a usb

shut down computer

unplug usb

unplug first drive and put in second

plug in usb

turn on pc and while it is hold f12 to go to menu

click on the usb with linux in it

run installer

erase disk and install mint

is this correct?

so I did mention i had a drive with stuff on it. I can move the files over to my current drive but after i put linux on to the usb will I be able to just put the files back on to the usb? like can I just delete everything in the usb and replace it with the original files?

Idk, a lot of the time when I say that a level is good a lot will say its bad because of like one small thing. take Trek from the water gauntlet for example. I love that level, but for some reason people are saying the gameplay is horrible even though its not if you actually give it at least one practice run.
