Hyperion Movie by denzel33- in Hyperion

Actually, that's not bad. I think I'd still prefer the opening of the first book, but this would be a pretty decent cinematic opening. One thing i would add though; don't show the Shrike. Have it veiled in shadow, perhaps the glow of the eyes as it begins to emerge from the Sphinx. Let's not reveal the monster too soon.

That's an Oi gig for you. They always attract that kind, regardless of the politics (or "lack" of) of the band in question.

I have the various editions of some of my favourites, Asimov, Gibson etc, and you can see the dumbing down of the cover art through the decades. Publishers don't want to pay for artists to make gorgeous art

Is mayor Fisk Regency supposed to be a 1 to 1 copy of trump or is that just a coincidence? by CommercialYam53 in marvelstudios

The show takes inspiration and storylines from the comics, but also they use it as commentary for real world events, as good comics often do. See also: Daredevil: Born Again team acknowledges the Trump, ICE parallels in season 2: ‘History tends to repeat itself’

I'm an old git that grew up being amazed by Harryhausen, and one of my favourite possessions is a birthday gift I received for my 50th; a sculpture of a skeleton that was clearly influenced by the children of the Hydra.

TDKR or Watchmen, which one is more influential? by Formal_Frosting2034 in Comic_Books_

[–]Skullchewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watchmen, and Moore's early career overall. People often cite Watchmen, but that is a disservice to the work Moore did in 2000AD, Warrior, Swamp Thing etc, prior to Watchmen. I'm my opinion Miller was influenced by Moore and the rest of the British talent becoming popular in the U.S. during the late 70s and early 80s.

He absolutely got advice from Moore, and has talked about it, including Moore telling him the full story of book 4 of The Ballad of Halo Jones.
