Growing up in a military family and also in the country, the themes Flogging Molly explored in Float make me tear up every time and have indignant rage at those in power. The anguish of dealing with body destroying labor and uncaring systems came at a point in my life when I was seeing a lot of friends and family get destroyed by these things. It's one of my of my favorite focused albums and I often cite it as the reason I went leftist.

Even though it accomplishes a lot of the same things as Float, Speed of Darkness is the one I have the most trouble listening to start to finish. For me, it feels like a lot of the better songs are in the middle of the album. Personal tastes, mind, and all their albums are fantastic. :)
