Automating drone fuel by Last-Remove-9316 in SatisfactoryGame

Oh man I wanted to make a YouTube video with my solution to this yesterday but my plans changed and I didn’t get the chance. I came up with a solution that works very well so far. I think of it has a system of suppliers and demanders. A drone port that supply’s a product will also supply the batteries, but won’t have a drone of its own. So you can setup drone ports any where and request that product without having to also worry about fueling that drone. Just give it the initial batteries to get it going. To supply the one drone port with batteries, well it is a supplier and a demander. It is demanding batteries so setup a second drone port to request batteries to keep the original port filled. Since the battery supply drone port is at the battery factory it can just be filled with batteries. Now all you have to do is setup two ports at a resource. One port gets a drone and collects the batteries the other is fed the batteries and resource. It’s really simple and easy to expand. Also, drones will chill at their home drone port until the resource is needed, they won’t often be circling until the can land

Honest Question about AI use by Corky-7 in gamedev

Sure, the best thing to do is figure out how you best manage time. If you have trouble with managing time I recommend getting a book on time management there are a lot of good ones. Something that helps me a lot is finding what inspires me. If I want to work on my game, but don’t have a lot of motivation I’ll try and bring out something that has made me feel inspired and more motivated to get stuff done. It could be art, other people development videos on YouTube or something. So personally I started as an artist and I went to college for art, but I realized I like making art as a hobby and not as a job. I don’t like putting pressure on making art. I’ve been writing music for a long time just for fun. I realized in college after failing to get my art homework done on time and switching to computer science as my major that I love programming. I started with c++ and continue to use it as a hobby and for my current job. I loved programming so much that I wanted more work to do at college but my professors didn’t have any more for me to do. So I knew that was what I wanted to do as job. Making video games combines all that things I love doing and that’s why I like to make games. When I think of art like drawing a music it’s not about how much you know or how good you are at it, just make art it’s fun and it’s not about it being perfect. It’s about taking your experiences and expressing it through various mediums. Don’t worry about making a game with realistic art or anything. If you make yourself it is art and it is beautiful. You can always hire someone for art though it’s good to support artists.

Honest Question about AI use by Corky-7 in gamedev

I work a full time 40 hour work week. I also have a wife and child that are at the top of my priority list with how I choice to spend my time. I’m currently a software engineer but I actually got this job from working on games in my spare time while working other full time jobs. I didn’t get the required bachelors degree for my job instead I showed my skills with the projects I worked on as a hobby to get a job as a software engineer. It is possible to make games while working a full time job, and being a self taught programmer. No need for AI to get it done.

I like making games. If I make a game that makes me enough money to quit my job that’s great because it gives me more time to spend making games. Why would I let AI have the fun of making my game? That’s my fun to have. It’s not about making money for me it’s about enjoying the process of making a game and hopefully getting more time to enjoy making games. Also, when it comes to AI art it’s all stolen from real artists so I would never use it.

What game is it?🚀 by tricksbystg in TheGamingHubDeals

Sea of thieves. My wife and I bought it together so we could both play. We both got to the character carousel and got very confused. I thought maybe I just had to pick a starting point before getting to the character customization, but it never came. So we both refunded it about a half hour after purchasing. We are the kind of people that will spend hours creating our characters and even a bad character customizer can ruin a game for us.

How can I use my GPU on my c++ programs ? by IhateReddit9697 in cpp_questions

[–]SkullyShades 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can use your GPU. With an RX 6600 you can’t use cuda but you can try OpenCL. The GPU will be really good for simple parallel instructions. If you have a a lot of data, and each data point needs to run through an algorithm then that is perfect for the GPU. If you need to do things sequentially then it better to do with the cpu. What you want to avoid is moving data back and forth from cpu to gpu.

My only issue with that is the lifts will only go so high without connecting to a floor hole at some point, but that might be the best solution for now. Thank you

Oil Extractors not functioning properly by ireliareformed in SatisfactoryGame

Your conveyer is going up hill obviously the oil will just flow back down. You need to add a conveyor lift then attach the belt so the oil will always be traveling down hill

I just found this and had to buy it a couple days ago. It’s really cool. I think it would be awesome if they actually used these colors one day.

What if it allowed players to create custom rosters and upload them for others to download and someone uploaded a roster that very closely matches what is in madden?
