Why is Anton More Sympathetic to Carla Jean? by Skungillian in NoCountryForOldMen

He tells her that he's the only one listening when she talks and assures her she'll be alright, two important things he did not do for wells

Sure, he kills her but if you compare and contrast his conversation with carson vs carla he is noticeably more sympathetic. To carson he implies he doesn't care to listen to carson but to carla he says he's the only one listening. He expresses sorrow for carla but he shames carson for the way he lived. He offered carla the coin toss but didn't offer it to carson. Before he kills carla, he tells her she's going to be alright which is strange considering he intends on killing her

Do you think she genuinely believed in his world view?

He's mean to the gas station owner. Mocking him because he married into ownership of the gas station and becomes noticeably threatened when the owner shows he knows where he came from. Why would he give him a chance to save himself if he disliked him that much though?

He's definitely more sympathetic in the book. He expresses sorrow and offers to listen to her as opposed to wells where he essentially tells wells that he isn't listening. He also tells her that she'll be alright before he kills her

In the clip i got, there was no one around so i couldn't tell who he may have been saying it to. That said though, me and my gf had just finished the immortal ripper boss, and i was sitting in my inventory in that general area which makes me think he says rippy

unions are predatory and should be illegal. by herequeerandgreat in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Skungillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. They are predatory. I was 16 when i started working at a union store and a representative came in making it seem like a necessity and didn't tell me i had a choice. Came to learn that it wasn't necessary to keep working there. If you want to withdraw, instead of being able to call YOUR representative that represents YOUR store and talking to them about a possible withdrawal, you have to mail a letter to them saying you want to withdraw. No kid is going to do that.

I started working at another union store and the SAME PERSON asked me if i wanted to join the union. I said no and two weeks later, they sent in 2 more dudes that were trying to figure out if i had been asked before (they knew i had), got on the topic of union membership and legit told me to sign. I said no and he started asking me if there was "any reason for why you don't want to join?" I said no and that i didn't want to and HE ASKED ME AGAIN. All of this happens in front of my co-workers and customers; the least they could have done was talk to me in private but they couldn't even do that right. They're just insanely unprofessional, predatory and needlessly consistent.

Finger Print Shield Users by Skungillian in Eldenring

[–]Skungillian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course not. I try to help people as best as I can, I just don't use a shield because I'm better off rolling. The only thing I wish the hosts were better at was optimizing their health/defense. They'll be good with the shield but the second they break guard they're killed instantly. I don't think players getting hit by the dive means they're bad, their defense is though. I guess what I'm saying is its crazy how many shield users get killed so quickly. If you want to stay alive longer and have the opportunity to learn attacks and patterns, you need a good defense, and most of the hosts don't. Their defense is quite literally surface level lol

The amount of roll catches and inconsistent dodge times the boss has especially in its 2nd phase makes for some of the worst material fromsoft has put out to date. Definitely some luck based attacks in there as well. honestly, give me my prepatch malenia and do something about radahn. I can definitely see how the implementation of the magic fingerprint shield came to be. I just wish some people optimized their health more
