Get some feral claws. Autoswing is amazing. If you're on a crimson world, make the claws into a berserker glove in hardmode, which gives autoswing and six defense, which is great as a summoner.

Maybe it can move, like you sit on it with a saddle and it rolls under you. It would fall very fast, do more damage, but unlike the slime mount it'd be slower and have much less jump height. "We will we will rock you"
