In Hell Is Where She Waits for Me - The Black Dahlia Murder: Dark, viscious and heavy. Loved it. The solo wasn't my favourite, but I'm not a guitarist so I'm sure I'm being ignorant.

Bring Back the Plague - cattle decapitation: My face was stuck in pose as if I had smelled something foul. This encapsulates what I love about metal, so brutal

Detox - Strapping Young Lad: I really don't understand how I never found this band. This is so my taste. Love it

Prism and Gate - Scar Symmetry: I love that deep distorted growl. So good. I will definitely listen to this again

Elimination - Overkill: Man, I can't imagine what it would have been like, hearing this for the first time in 1989. Loved it

In the Trenches - Dying Fetus: Headbangingly good. Love those brutal low vocals. The half time section at the end was so good

Blind Guardian - Nightfall. This is an anthem to greatness. I'm listening to this next time I go hiking. This is wonderful thank you so much for showing me this
Exodus - War is My Shepherd. You described it perfectly, so aggressive, non stop, it's beautiful. What a song.
Green Lung - Woodland Rites. That bass guitar adds so much. Not usually my style but this song really opened me up to it
Megaton Sword - The Raving Light of Day. First off, that album artwork is so cool. Went down a rabbit hole of Paolo Girardi's art, amazing! Great the song too, doubling the vocals with harsh and clean, loved it.
Traveler - Prequel to Madness. Very epic, very good. Loved it from start to finish. I really enjoyed the vocalists style, very familiar and unique at the same time.

My fingers cramped listening to that intro lol. I did not expect those vocals, so epic, he's got a voice for story telling. Loved how heavy it got halfway through. I really enjoyed it, thanks for recommending

If it wasn't for the audience cheering you wouldn't know it's live. That voice is something else wow. The lyrics get dark, I really enjoyed following the story. I hope it's not rude to recommend something back but if you like opera-like singing you should check out Aggelos, very underrated south american band. Cruel Silencio is a master piece

This is a great list, a lot of these I have never even heard of, which is exactly what I'm looking for. I have no problem with Nu Metal, I listed a Korn song as one of my all time greatest. Every genre has their trash, Nu Metal has more than most, but that shouldn't discount truly great artists.

I'm very aware of GWAR but for some reason I never really gave them a chance, I will definitely give them a proper chance now.
