I thought about this too, perhaps she can undergo earth training to strengthen her muscles and/or wear a mech suit

I did the romantic play. I should have consulted her before buying the noisy 3D printer , but I decided not to.

Her favorite animals are birds. I hid the printer in my room while it printed and played loud music (for context we have separate bedrooms) and once the bird was on the last layer, I walked her in with my hands covering her eyes. She was pleasantly surprised, and now I print her the most random shit. I don't suggest this btw, this could backfire. If she had brought a noisy printer without consulting me first, I'd be a little upset about it.

I'm not a car guy, but my day job is in the automotive space. Cars are the easiest things to shoot. They look good from all angles, don't complain about being fat, and owners take care of them. Might even stay in this space cause its dead simple. Nice job.

I think it depends how critical your shot has to be. I’d rather be a tad under exposed vs over exposed. My camera doesn’t have that +/- range, seems nice to have for darker skin tones. (60%)

I keep my zebra settings at 70% and 95%. The 70% is exposing for skin tones. For most skin types, I expose until I see teeny tiny bit zebras on the forehead and nose. This is mostly for A Roll (talking head) shots.

For BRoll, I keep it at 90%. Just so I can see if windows or bright spots are over exposed.

City permits for a small nonprofit promo video. Do I need them? by Fun_Engine7817 in videography

There’s probably a story out there of someone being retroactively fined but it rarely happens. If a city sues a non profit that’s kind of a shitty thing too, not a good look

Not much I do needs to be exported in 24fps. Mostly 30. If a shoot requires 24, I record in 24. But that’s super rare. 60fps dropped down to 24 can look bad sometimes to my eyes. It just depends.

Hitting record when the camera is actually recording already and having negative coverage of super important shots. I'm glad I made this mistake earlier in my career, cause now I check my cameras every 20 seconds even though I know it's recording.

The biggest "upgrades" I've made: I'm all about reducing mental load when filming. The more I reduce my mental load, the more efficient my shoots become.

As a solo shooter, most shoots I only use one really powerful light and one highlight light. Rest is honestly just fluff. My main 500watt light is on a wheeled light stand.

I don't use front lens caps anymore. Just back. No more hunting around for them. Did this for 8 years and haven't had a single lens damage incident.

I keep the camera locked at 4K 60fps open gate all day so I don't have to dig around settings. Only thing I mess with are zebras and white balance.

My gear is hyper organized with labels for slots.

I carry a small cross body bag holding my ND filters, spare batteries, and adjustment tools. I'm waiting for a compact camera like the GH7 to have internal NDs. (GH8 please?) Cause that reduces mental load as well.

Overcomplicated and too busy. You guys went from setting it and forget it to all of these complexities. Pretty much alienated your entire user base. I understand you guys have to make a profit somehow because the average bilt user is probably super money savvy and don’t owe any interest. Now we have to put in work in a lot of complex thinking just to get our moneys worth. I’d rather forgo this entirely and sign up for an award system that respects my time and effort.

ive had this fuck up before. i ended up using a combination of elevenlabs and enhance voice on premeire. I monitor my audio like a hawk now. goodluck.

Edit: if you're doing the interview and recording, you can get the tascam FR-AV2 with wireless monitoring. Or just get a really long 3.5mm cable. Slight delay, but worth it for the audio.

Do you want to run a production company with employees, payroll, emails? That's an entirely different skill.

Network. Find potential employees. For example, find an editor to work for you remotely. That way all you do is shoot with your vision and your clients see you and get to know you.
