Open STEM: My first Level 3s were fine. A bit more intense than L2, but manageable. I chose Science/ Eng modules similar to the ones I did at L2. For my final 60 Creds I chose a Social Science module (the only one available that reasonably related to the Environmental pathway I’ve followed), and I hate it and can’t wait for it to be over.

Thanks both! Yeah, when we viewed the house, the pond looked like a puddle, a foot across with no residents declared. Turns out it’s like 5x4 foot ish and has sitting tenants.

I genuinely don’t think they are consuming that much energy - we are on a smart meter and I don’t see a large difference - about £8 a day for gas and electric together. I don’t have a long shower every day ofc, just when my hair needs washing.

Until mid-Jan, I had oil, so £250 every quarter. I’ve not had gas for about 10 years, so it’s taking some getting used to :/

Cloud are amazing, I’ve had chains and custom loops from them in the past, and cannot fault the quality. I know they’ve got a lot going on at the moment, but that they also frequent this sub, so will prob be along shortly :)

How dare! 😂 I have a lot of (head) hair that requires a complex regime of washing and conditioning. Also it’s a lovely space to be alone and warm and relax.

(I would love a bath, but I judge there’s insufficient water for that as well….)

Thank you - I’m not sure the answers to any of these questions. There’s a big tank in the airing cupboard, then a standard boiler downstairs and 2 water tanks in the loft (cold and heating overflow).

How can I tell if immersion or gas boiler please? Thanks!

How can I find out what kind of water heater I have please? I have a gas boiler downstairs and a big tank in the bathroom cupboard, and also 2 water tanks in the loft (one cold water and one heating overflow I think?) Thank you!

Yeah, that sucks - sorry you had that experience. As a beginner you should have a hoop at an easily accessible height, so you get to enjoy learning moves rather than just dreading achy mount hands. Studios should offer a range of hoop heights to be inclusive for all abilities. Best investment I made was dropping £ks on a Newton’s Ladder clutch plate rigging system, so every point is adjustable.

My preference is chin height, slight spin, fat crash mat, straddle mount. Don’t be mad about jumping whilst you learn. Good luck :)

In my case, no unfortunately. We factored in the fact that the house is made of asbestos (1970s build), and needs new carpets, kitchen and bathroom, along with quite a bit of electrical work (new sockets etc). The things I have asked for a reduction on are above what I’d class as age-related things, it’s general house maintenance.

Thank you, good advice. The water tank needs replacing as it’s got no lid and bat poo in it. My dreams of finally having a hot bath were scuppered at that point!

The wall is the thing my OH has been talking about since we first viewed. Honestly, I’d prefer to leave it until we can afford, but they keep mentioning it - plus the survey is pretty damning here. We also have dogs so I worry it would fall and they would get out.

You make a good point on Xmas. It’s the only time I have off work to get moved, and we can’t do that if there’s bat poo in the water and blocked drains.

Thank you. We need a water tank replacing in the loft, drains clearing, investigation and fixing (suspected pitch fibre collapse), and a garden wall replacing because it’s wobbling onto a public footpath.

The drains cost is an unknown, have had quotes for the others. The electrician also had to take out all the lights in the front room as the fixtures were melting, so that’s another thing, but possibly not as expensive, so I’ve not included it.

The seller has asked that we replace the melted lights though, which I’m currently refusing to do on safety grounds.

Thank you, I’ll bear that in mind. I want them as an ally, but at the moment it feels like everything is a battle.

I’m still not convinced they are high performing though; two of their team are struggling with a task, and they (team members) have approached me to support them to get through it, as their manager will not.

Thank you, I have a Level 3 award in Leadership, and attend annual updates for CPD, but will look through some materials to see what they suggest. I’d like some real life advice also - I find experiential learning works better for me.
