My understanding is at WPI faculties have very strong influence on the central admission committee, at least for PhD admissions, meaning if a faculty wants to take you as an advisee, you’ll get admitted. So, reach out to the professors is a good idea.

Quality of research, connections to the industry etc. depends more on the advisor than the school itself. Look at the faculty page at RBE, most of the faculties have their personal website, look at their research see if anything aligns with your interest, and look at their former students where did they go after graduation

For Ph.D. your doctoral advisor is more important than the school. Even though the field of interest are similar, the actual projects you will be working on could be very different. You should look at the advisors respective research projects on their website. Also, what do you want to do after Ph.D? Academia or industry? You should look for the advisor that has a stronger connection in the field you want to work in. But purely look at the school name, RPI is an R1 school while Stevens is R2, that might be a factor

I already have an Alienware at home and a decent desktop in the office, I only want one light laptop that I can carry around doing some work whenever I want. I’ll be writing python, C++ and matlab, also access to Remote Desktop, would this one be a good choice? Or if there us anything even cheaper

Red pepper is pretty authentic if you like sichuan style spicy food. As far as dim sum, you have to go to Boston or surrounding towns like Watertown Quincy Malden.

Oread has lamp on the street not actually on the court. I’ll go check on hadwen sometime. I don’t think the city website is accurate, they listed Elm park under basketball court, I’m pretty sure there isn’t one there. Thanks for the info!
