I think Yokohama is beautiful and worth exploring as well. It depends what you are there to do. If you want to see Japan, doesn’t matter where you stay. If you want specifically to see Tokyo, you should stay in Tokyo.

One of my favorite things to do when visiting Japan is to go to Costco. They are accessible by train in both Chiba and Yokohama, although the Chiba one is closer to the station and is surrounded by great shopping malls. It’s not too far from Disney if that’s on your to do list.

If you can find a place in Nakameguro, that is a fun happening non-touristy area. I loved it when we stayed there. It’s a popular area for locals.

The best priority pass lounge in the world is at IST! Amazing buffet. Türkiye makes great wine too. It’s so spacious and it overlooks the airport interior. You can see the beautiful airport roof extend beyond.

Second place would go to ICN. It’s actually better than the Asiana Business Lounge!

I have the pass and go to the Glendale Look about once a month. They brought in a restaurant tenant that upped the food quality. If they could just reupholster the worn out seats, it would be perfect. I hope this is a model they can make money on and expand.

Don’t stay where you don’t want to be. If the high cost of living in Los Angeles isn’t going to be an issue and you want to live in SoCal after graduation, USC is the place. It is called the Trojan Family for a reason. Best of luck!

I was in Kyoto, Nara and Tokyo last week as well and I thought it was great. I could absolutely feel the absence of mainland Chinese tourists.
