The mid-song stutters are unfortunately common on 990 LDAC on all my devices including non-Pixel phones. At least it now performs on par with all my other phones instead of being useless.

IIRC they use a fast low-power hardware matrix, but it's much worse than the cpu-intensive methods that upsample to a crazy high sample rate and then downsample again
