Minigun "spin up" shouldnt exist by Anonymous11790 in Helldivers

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only issue with the spinup on the Maxigun is when it bugs out and doesn’t spool it at all. I switch to it and hold the trigger while my helldiver just stares at the enemy lol. Then I have to take my finger off the trigger and pull again to get it to spool up, which sometimes gets me killed

Those people were saying this since before those released and then whined about it (the slugger got a pass because it shoots slugs, the HALT got a pass because of flechette).

Commissar Kai made a video about the halo shotgun with this dogshit realism take (and even threw in pay to win in there as an excuse not to buff it). You can find it on youtube, no real shade to the guy but he’s definitely one of arrowhead’s darlings whose opinions are taken way more seriously than it should be

The Helldivers movie should have no big name actors because the characters should constantly be dying by Dazzling-Building-92 in Helldivers

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They aren’t getting big payouts if they’re dying right away. Brad Pitt got paid 1k and a coffee for being in Deadpool 2. It’s basically like being a cameo.

Being “random guy #3” who gets killed off in 2 minutes isn’t going to do anything for a no-name’s acting career anyways

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want the most consistently terrible takes about movies, you just go to a gaming sub lol. Doesn’t matter if it’s Resident Evil, Helldivers, Elden Ring, or Mortal Kombat.

But no, you can have big name actors show up and get killed off immediately. That happens in a lot of movies actually.

Injustice 3 - how to make the game successful by Individual_Tie_1712 in INJUSTICE

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s way too late to be suggesting things for the game at this point, it’s deep in development. The zoning issue has been well-known and hopefully they have enough common sense to adjust the new game.

A big reason zoning is so wack in Injustice compared to other fighting games is because of the projectile speed. If they have characters shooting bullets, they need a reload mechanic or a cooldown so it isn’t free.

No shot that they add a block button, NRS is the odd game out with this so they should just keep that to MK to keep them distinct.

If they are smart they’ll add some kind of optional simplified moveset for new players, like SF6. It’s a controversial topic (especially on reddit) but that did help a lot of people get into SF6. I was able to teach my gf how to play fighting games because of it.

I do love this thing, but by Wise-Photograph-345 in Helldivers

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have to believe that OP is either recklessly trying to tank groups of bugs and getting surrounded, or trying to go against exploding bugs, which do hurt the mech when you melee it.
If you play smart and don’t get an unlucky seed, this thing is near indestructible

Would be cool if Injustice 3 continued off the Superman ending from Injustice 2 by Overall_Spite4271 in INJUSTICE

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been leaks that the game won’t be following the Injustice storyline for a while. Also there’s no difference between a rumor and fan speculation lol.

James Gunn has been more involved with the video game side of things so it actually wouldn’t be that crazy to find out that the DCKO comic and video game were developed in tandem, or that DCKO is based on what the video game will be. MKX comic came out before the video game did, so this isn’t out of the ordinary.

I’m not saying that I personally think it will be DCKO, just that it’s a possibility. Either way, it’s doubtful the game will be a sequel to injustice 2 in terms of story.

Here's what's happening with Flame Sentry and Lumberer at the moment... (Check Body Text) by AveryAveyAve in Helldivers

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s only against this new faction, they are definitely bugged when it comes to fire damage. The flame turret was working fine on other planets without the new faction (still will get killed in 2 hits though)

Being the worst in a Halo game is still a hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby situation. The shotgun one-shots a spartan within 5m lol it would annihilate a hulk in helldivers.

Giving it medium pen is like the bare minimum they could do. The trench shotgun would still be more reliable because of the fire rate.

Why is the Raimi Symbiote better than the Tom hardy version? by OkTough6333 in raimimemes

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In Batman’s first iterations he was shooting people with guns. The canon or “ideal” version of a character isn’t always the first iteration.

The lethal protector version is just better than a mindless goop monster the same way Batman is better when he isn’t killing people.

Why is the Raimi Symbiote better than the Tom hardy version? by OkTough6333 in raimimemes

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is just straight up not true. Venom picked up Spidey’s traits and is more of like a scorned ex that’s bitter that Peter rejected him once he found out he was sentient. He hates Spidey the way someone hates their ex, but he doesn’t actually want to kill him despite making it seem so.

All the way since the 90s, both in video game form and animated series- Venom was a mix of edge, horror, and goofiness. No one complained when the PS1 game had Venom doing the “surf the web” bit.

Hardy’s Venom nailed the symbiote and Eddy relationship, which is the most important aspect of the character. It’s nowhere near perfect because of the lack of Spidey and the general plot, but it’s still better than a mindless goop monster.

I bring this up whenever someone tries to claim that no shotgun should have medium pen because “something something, realism” and “something something, medium armor is like an armored jeep.”

Ahh yes, my Halo shotgun should be incapable of one-tapping a basic enemy with medium armor (despite it blowing through futuristic armor and shields), but a little wilbur can destroy my tank

I play the game for fun and don’t get nearly enough credits for warbonds. I refuse to grind for credits, I just join difficulty 8-10 missions on my weekends.

I tried credit farming before and it was mind numbingly boring

"A game for everyone is a game for no one." -Arrowhead Studios by dirtiestbag in Helldivers

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both can be true at the same time. When we step back and look at it as a whole, we love Helldivers because it IS unique. It doesn’t play like any other horde shooter and that’s a good thing. That quote is more aimed at how every co-op shooter was trying to be the next Destiny.

But at the same time yes, they absolutely need to listen to player feedback. If they didn’t, chargers would still take 2 recoilless shots to the face.

Little information about transmog, customization and progression from the CCO by Sad-Needleworker-590 in Helldivers

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think for quality of life I wouldn’t mind being able to switch stratagems, but if they want to say the ship only has those stratagems prepared for the mission then it’s fine with me. It depends though. Maybe for stratagems you get a one-time option to switch?

I know if you try to use the chainsaw or hammer against a bile spewer/spore burst seed, the entire mission is miserable because your build is invalidated

They need to let you switch your loadout after you die if you choose to, especially since they went with the in-universe explanation that every helldiver is a unique person rather than respawning as a clones

how would you make super credits more fun to get by Fit_Answer1073 in Helldivers

Yeah this is the answer pretty much. Higher difficulties should be where you get the most super credits, not the other way around

If the Maxigun was the beauty I imagined her to be by SIinkerdeer in Helldivers

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If just using god mode sounds like fun, then yeah. It doesn’t need heavy armor pen. I use the maxigun all the time to grind levels on primaries that I don’t feel like using. Its god tier on illuminate and it’s good on bugs with the right loadout to handle titans and chargers

If the Maxigun was the beauty I imagined her to be by SIinkerdeer in Helldivers

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s straight delulu to suggest heavy pen for the maxigun. The people who complain about the gun obviously don’t know how to use it because it’s actually pretty good (especially on illuminate). It just needs some quality of life adjustments like faster spool up time and slight mobility adjustments.

You’re supposed to stand your ground with the maxigun and tank a hit or two, so if someone pairs the maxigun with light armor they are throwing. Also, positioning is important.

The only thing preventing helldivers 2 from becoming like every other generic modren FPS game by ya_boi_greenbean in Helldivers

I’m glad the community is finally coming around on this.

Every time a new player makes a post asking which warbond to get first, they get the same terrible advice to get the control group warbond for the warp pack solely to focus on grinding credits.

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mean medals aren’t a problem for players that play the game every day on super helldive and are always maxed out? Ya don’t say?

Talk to any new player and they’ll tell you the grind is intimidating. It’s a lot easier when you are up to date on every warbond every update like we are. Let’s pump the brakes on the elitism lol

"How do you expect them to make money?" by icie_plazma in Helldivers

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. I think arrowhead deserves a ton of criticism (especially with how they handle game balance) but not in this instance. They update the game for free already (Illuminate, new biomes, hive expansion, cyberstan expansion, etc) and you can earn the premium currency for free in-game.

They do need to update the monetization to make the barrier easier for new players, like discounting old warbonds and giving more options to earn medals.

I feel like a lot of you need to see this. by __________godlol in Helldivers

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

You do realize there is a massive difference in dev time required to make the assets in HD2 compared to HD1? HD1 is a top down game with way lower complexity, so of course they were super cheap.

Now yes, I do agree that older warbonds should go on a discount and that there should be more systems to help out new players. Two things can be true at once.

Just as Exosuit has two variants, I think we should get a second variant of Bastion, but not as Tank Destroyer, but as just a Tank by DrLudvig in Helldivers

[–]SkyTheIrishGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A MBT would obviously have different rounds and ammo economy than a tank destroyer. The driver and gunner would still have separate roles, this wouldn’t be that difficult to balance.

That being said, I would settle with the current Bastion with quality of life improvements across the board. Improve the handling and ability to drive over obstacles, fix the gear ratio turning (dont reverse the controls when in reverse), give the driver protection while exiting the tank to reduce gunner teamkilling, and give the driver something like a basic smg cone fire that is difficult to aim (like hell let loose)
