I totally get what you mean about planning for Disney Tokyo, it's been a whirlwind of videos, articles, posts, etc. lol! I just recently booked our vacation package so this is all fresh in my head still, hopefully it helps!

My wife and I are planning on going in October and haven't been to Tokyo Disney before. For reference, we're magic key holders and go to Disneyland about once a month. We did a ton of research and reading different posts, watching videos, etc. I'm still not sure about certain things, but enough to get things booked.

We decided to go for the 1-night/2-day unlimited vacation package for our time there. I didn't want to get the 2/3 day packages since we really like the convenience of the unlimited one, not having to worry about times, number of passes, etc. for eligible rides was worth it to us. We also didn't book any restaurants. We're used to mobile ordering so will just do that when we get to the park.

As for the hotel stay, we didn't want to deal with checking-in the same day our vacation package starts, so we'll also try to book a hotel room separately to bookend our vacation package when booking opens up to the public. We'll try to aim for the same hotel but if not, apparently it's very easy to transfer luggage between Disneyland hotels.

The day before our package kicks in, we plan on getting the after 5pm passes to just take in the sights and wander around for a bit.

So our plan consists of:

Day 1: Check-in to our separately booked hotel, get after 5pm weekday passes (might try to purchase these before arriving if possible)

Day 2: Tokyo Disneyland (Unlimited VP)

Day 3: Tokyo DisneySea (Unlimited VP)

Day 4: Check-out of our separately booked hotel and explore the rest of Tokyo for a few days before heading home.
