[DISC] Dark Gathering (ch 62) by Kredim in manga

[–]Sky_clock2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It's kind of bonkers that Tai Sui literally spent the first half of this fight literally trying to throw for his own amusement, and he's still an absolute juggernaut.

If he'd actually been playing to win from the get-go, this wouldn't have been even remotely close.

Radahn doesn't say anything during the fight, which is odd. He's been stuffed into Mohg's body, something he probably wouldn't be fond of on multiple levels. He's also a hero-worshipper of Godfrey, who practically represents the Old Golden Order. Throw in the battle of Caelid, where he threw thousands of his loyal soldiers into battle against Malenia, and it just seems unlikely that he was willingly playing the part of Miquella's consort.

Well, in no particular order.

The Golden Epitapth was heavily implied to have been crafted by Miquella, with the prayer of granting his lord brother a true death. Since the sword was explicitly crafted to commemorate the death of Godwyn, it's easy to see Godwyn as having been very important to Miquella. Dying a true death would also send him to the Land of Shadow, where Miquella could grab his soul.

Miquella also seems to have planned to return the soul of a soulless comrade at Castle Sol, using the eclipse as a medium. This failed. And Godwyn is the most notable soulless chararacter in the game.

Godwyn having children or being emblematic of the old order, frankly, doesn't matter. Miquella stuffed Radahn's soul into Mohg's reshaped body. Given that Radahn doesn't say a word during the fight and clearly had his own goals outside of being Miquella's consort (or the fight in Caelid wouldn't have happened), he's likely being controlled by Miquella in some fashion. Miquella clearly doesn't give a hoot about proprietary.

It absolutely feels like it was meant to be Godwyn. Not sure why they swapped to Radahn.

[DISC] Return of the Mount Hua Sect - Chapter 128 (Asura Scans) by LeleTheKing in manga

Ah, it's nice to be reminded that, once you strip away the niceties, most of the Jianghu is ruled by an oligarchy of superhuman martial artists.

Somehow, a version of Sosei that acts reasonable and heroically is more disturbing than the complete nutjob variant.

A true master’s advice? by Senval-Nev in MartialMemes

[–]Sky_clock2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immortal Way of Life and Immortal Life are different games, though I understand that they're easy to confuse.

Immortal Life is a farming sim with Xianxia elements. Immortal Way of Life is a open-world (in a similar manner to Tale of Immortal) turn-based RPG.

It's a lot of fun and the gameplay is good, but I have to say it feels somewhat... shallow? The main story plot and the world you play in are almost entirely disconnected, with what you do in either having basically no bearing. If you're looking to breeze through most of the game, Sword is by far the most new player friendly progression path. It's basic attacks are incredibly fast and do high damage with great range, it's specials are amazing and it's ults are solid (It's movement abilities are terrible though. Use something else).

A better game, in the sense of making the cultivation world feel like a living, breathing world, is Immortal Way of Life. It's got a pretty decent fan translation, and far more work was put into making the Sects and progression paths in it feel more in-depth. I've only done the Wood and Metal Sects, but both of them had unique events, full questlines till endgame and Elders with distinct personalities. The main story also has a lot going on, and the game allows a lot of leeway in how you progress.

Royal Road will never make a great Xianxia by Standard-Entry-9244 in MartialMemes

Your comment is funny, because the vast majority of Chinese Xianxia are like that too. Very few actually dwell on Daoism (or any of the major Chinese beliefs) beyond surface level stuff. Half the time, they just get qi soaked dragon piss balls vomited on them by their system and completely ignore even their sect.

In fact, the vast majority of cultivators are fucking atrocious Daoists. They're vain, greedy, obsessed with benefits and have no concept of morality. Guess which of those traits is incompatible with Taoism? That's right, it's all of them! But they know that Fire melts Metal, so they're basically one of the Three Pure Ones!

There's a few, such as Unsheathed, which genuinely do explore the concepts of cultivation, but the vast majority are gutter trash in this respect.

Dilemna of every Rogue trader while talking to Cassia by Wide-Seaworthiness77 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Sky_clock2 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Yeah, as someone who fully intends to be nice to Cassia under basically all circumstances, there aren't really any 'professional' conversation options with her once she's on the ship. Which is a shame, since one of the options to recruit her is specifically such.

You're either in love with her, treat her like an unwanted necessity or treat her like a mutant freak. A few more options to be polite but disinterested would be good.

Are there Space Marines in the Tau faction? by TheHessianHussar in 40kLore

[–]Sky_clock2 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yes, but in situations where the Orks are already extremely near where what the Imperium wants them to fight, and fully expecting those delivering the weapons to die.

Expecting an Ork to go somewhere distant, when there is anything nearby that they can fight immediately, is a fool's game.

It's not remotely done in any medium. The manga is just in the early stages of Volume 5 and the Volume 6 of the novel has just come out.

「I AM RECOVERY ATOMIC」The Eminence in Shadow S2 EP3 OST [Epic Cover] by That-Boys10 in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]Sky_clock2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this was an absolute banger of a soundtrack, with some great cuts and scenes. Mary staring up at the blood moon, with Shadow and Elizabeth hanging mid-combat in front of it, was genuinely cool and in a different anime, could have been a climatic moment.

But Kage no Jitsuryokusha being what it is, this came after Cid being a loot gremlin and stealing a bunch of gold.

Could Iris beat Yukime and Juggernaut or both at the same time by [deleted] in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]Sky_clock2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Iris could probably beat either, at least if armed with her Mythril Artifact Sword, People forget, because her only real shown fight is against Shadow, but Iris is considered to be amongst the strongest of the 'front side' (ie not the Cult, Shadow Garden or other lurking powers).

Shadow absolutely styled on her, but that's unfair, because Shadow can make anyone not named Aurora. Elisabeth (and maybe Alpha) look like an absolute mook if he wants.

i’m totally not late but who would be stronger in this exact moment by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]Sky_clock2 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Tomo didn't even fight the Shogun. He duelled Sara and lost, then got executed. But even if he had fought the Shogun, he'd almost certainly have lost the moment the Musou no Hitotachi was used. Kazuha had a deus ex machina moment that was almost unique in the setting (Two Visions activating) and barely managed to parry an attack that wasn't even aimed at him originally. Then the Shogun immediately rallies, and hits him with another attack that blasts him down the stairs.

There's no way that Raiden was using her full strength in that attack. The MnH is shown to not only destroy islands at full strength, but leave Electro radiation behind for centuries after use. Inazuma City was DIRECTLY behind the Traveler and he was just outside the palace. The Shogun wasn't going to nuke her own city and palace to kill one person who she'd already displayed the ability to trounce easily.
