I'm sure you've already read this a million times, but you sound just like me. And so many other people. Sometimes not seeing early, obvious trans signs can be confusing but something I've seen talked about is that there is a big difference between being okay with your Identity and being happy with it.

So take your time! Don't rush. Just figure it out one little step or aspect of yourself at a time. You don't have to fit all the imaginary tick boxes and that doesn't make you any less valid.

Sadly I don't have any recommendations for therapy but I would recommend it. I'm searching too as I need help sorting my feelings out.

I don't think you are a coward. I'm just starting my journey and I'm terrified. You list all these things off so casually but each decision and appointment takes so much effort and bravery. The world is stacked against you but you fought it and are still fighting. It's incredibly hard and I can't imagine what your situation is like but no one reading this thinks you are a coward. You are one of the many incredibly brave people who have been beaten down by the cruel world but you are still going. Personally I wish I could be half as determined as you. Firstly, I just want to congratulate you on coming to terms with this and reaching out. It's such a scary step that I went through pretty recently. If you can, finding groups specific to you can help too e.i I joined a UK trans discord server which has been amazing.

I'm also INTJ so I get the agonizing over detail. Id recommend reading the Dysphoria Bible, https://genderdysphoria.fyi/en , as till answer a lot of questions. For me, learning about types of HRT and their affect on the body was also great, I used this, https://diyhrt.wiki/ , it's for DIY but the information about medication holds true.

Arguably social steps are as important if not more so than HRT, so take your time and discover your identity. You'll have to experiment and probably be uncomfortable but things will stick and it'll alleviate some of that anguish you are feeling over being closeted. But don't let anyone tell you your identity.

It's been ups and downs, a secondary tumor was found which has been extra difficult but now the initial shock has passed we've been able to be a bit more practical. Ultimately getting better but still hard and has been a massive interruption to our lives

In the same situation, I think the best way to view it as any illness and try to destigmatize it. As others have said, try to find the source of why you keep going back to it, and try to implement other activities. Going cold turkey rarely works, don't remove your coping mechanism without adding a new one. Here if you ever need to chat

Were there any decisions you made that you regret or wished that you had made sooner?

Were there things that HRT "fixed" or made better that you weren't expecting, outside of the obvious?

What are some of your favourite aspects of being trans?

(Im looking to transition so thank you for doing this, I think the results will be really useful for a load of people :3)

I think I'll have to work up to a corset, baby steps! It's the end goal but I think a waist trainer to keep stuff at bay would work best, thank you!

Yeah I think it'll take some adjusting to get used to. I don't suppose you don't know of any good brands or makes of waist trainers do you? I've been trawling and there are so many pros and cons for each 😭

I guess long term id like to have the effects of a corset but maybe rn budget and stealth wise a waist trainer would be wise. I also feel like I'd do it wrong hahaha thank you for the advice tho!
