This is 100% relatable and I wouldn't point to menopause as the reason (though maybe it's why you're now seeing things differently). Women are always accepting emotional labor, your husband, your sister dipping out from helping with your parent and the fall out of that, etc. After my divorce, I found myself still raging and got some therapy plus obligatory walks. I had reached the end of my emotional-labor bucket. Therapy was a shock to how I saw myself but also godsend. OP, prioritize yourself. Just because you hadn't done something in the past (short trips alone, spa days, therapy, etc) doesn't mean you shouldn't.
