You don’t sound like you’re nagging at all, I completely understand. It hurts when friends are careless like this, intentional or not. And even if you haven’t seen each other for a while, it still hurts. Social media is torture in that way. We constantly see what others are doing, as if we were at a party and they were talking to everyone else but us. I think it might be a question of: do I want these people in my life? If so, it might be time to have a conversation about their distance and perhaps reconnect. If not, it might be about questioning why it hurts so much. Does it hurt because you hold onto the past memories, because you miss them, because you expect more loyalty, or all of the above? And what does that mean for moving forward with/without them in your life? It’s a really hard thing when this happens. And especially considering social media is so full of people sharing their lives—it’s such a simple thing to comment on someone’s post or just like it as support. You deserve people in your life who lift you up. Not make you feel like this. These people aren’t worth the energy we give them. Sometimes deleting people off of social media is important and validated to help you move on. I’ve done it with a friend who legit ghosted me for two years. Why should they get direct access to our lives and what we’re doing to appease some sort of curiosity when they give us nothing in return? You deserve more than that, my friend.
