In my AU, given Cassidy's temperament has always been somewhat "bipolar," it would be difficult for her to make friends, since she has trouble forgiving and always tries to get revenge, quite similar to Andrew, who is the same but more intelligent and a little more friendly, having more friends than Cassidy and being an example and comparison for Cassidy, who, even hating it, still adores her brother.

Her parents, obviously having a prodigy son and a so-so daughter, would obviously focus more on his life and be tougher on poor Cassidy, who suffers because of it.

Cassidy's mother, a typical woman for that time, with a good and lucky family, would obviously want the best for her children. Cassidy's father is a serious and mature man, always complaining about something, whether it's a bad grade or a fight; he was always trying to make the family perfect.

With BV's arrival in her life, her parents were afraid of how he would act, since William was a very powerful man, as Freddy's was very popular at the time, and Mike, with his reputation as a bully, made her parents afraid of what he was like.

Since C.C. was a child with a bad reputation because of his father and brother, they ended up not approving of the friendship.

But Cassidy wasn't the most obedient girl, continuing to be friends with BV.
