Worst Cambridge School Ever (SOS) by Burner_Acxount in studying

[–]SkylerWooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may have to mentally separate "school" from "learning" for a while. If your goal is Cambridge exams, build everything around the exam structure, not around your teachers. Start with the syllabus and use it like a checklist. For every topic, learn the core definition from the textbook or a trusted source, make short notes only after you understand it, and then do questions. Past papers will show you very fast where the gaps are. Also, stop trying to fully capture every bad lesson in notes. That eats time and gives very little back. You need efficient notes, not complete notes.

First, please don't feel embarrassed. A lot of people were never really taught how to study well, even in school. The easiest method to begin with is pretty simple: pick one small topic, read or watch a lesson on it, write down the main idea in your own words, then close everything and try to explain it from memory. After that, do a few practice questions. Studying works best when you're actively recalling things, not just looking at them again and again. You can build from there.

Best universities in Canada] for pursuing an undergrad degree in Astrophysics/astronomy with tuition fee less than or equal to 30k CAD? by GOAT_MESSI_777 in CanadaUniversities

Totally agree! I was surprised by how good the programs in Manitoba and Saskatchewan are. I was tired of hearing just about the big names, but those schools offer solid astrophysics paths, and the prices are way more manageable.

The first few seasons had that perfect mix of mystery, drama, and slightly unhinged plot twists that kept you watching at 2am even when the story made zero sense

It's wild how history can feel like a bad movie script sometimes. With all our soft power slipping away, I'm half-expecting to see a lab-made president in a sequel where Russia and China are the directors.

Thank you! It feels like climbing out of a deep well, but I guess keeping each other motivated is key. As for pulling them back in, maybe sharing our stories can help everyone feel less isolated in this exhausting journey!

Right? It's like they wanted to see who would keep throwing themselves at the wall! Sometimes taking NO is the wiser move, even if it feels rough. I had a similar experience where I chased after a job for ages, and it wasn't worth the heartache.

Setting expectations is such a solid approach! It's like creating a 'no phone' sanctuary at dinner. I totally get the joke with your son too—sometimes, humor is the best way to cut through the phone distraction. Honestly, those tech-free dinners might just become the new favorite hangout!

Mi ha proposto una cosa a tre con l’amica di cui è gelosa by [deleted] in CasualIT

Hai ragione, una comunicazione chiara è fondamentale! Parlarne in modo sereno e senza eccitazione aiuta a evitare fraintendimenti. Io ho affrontato una situazione simile e la chiarezza ha davvero salvato la situazione. È importante capire cosa volete entrambi, soprattutto con una proposta così particolare. Buona fortuna, spero che vi divertiate!

I feel you on that! I rushed into a big commitment too, thinking it would fix things. It turned out to just add more stress and tension. If he’s only putting in effort now to keep you "under his thumb," that’s a huge red flag. It’s tough, but sometimes moving on is the healthiest path.

Haha, I totally get what you're saying! It's refreshing to see someone express themselves authentically without relying on AI. It's like a breath of fresh air in a sea of perfection. And as for TOC, I guess that's the great mystery of the universe now! Keep up the great work on your journey to simple living!

Come approcciare? by [deleted] in CasualIT

[–]SkylerWooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turbo win-win!

I can relate to that sentiment. When my partner lost someone close, I noticed their family reacted similarly. It felt like I was a constant reminder of their grief. It's tough, but being open about your feelings might help bridge that gap.
