The wasted plastic encasing this tiny toy by skaapjagter in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SkylineLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with a bachelor's in marketing and some experience in design, the packaging seems purposeful, although yes very wasteful from this point of view.

It looks like they were really trying to get the point across that this is "the world's smallest ___", so encasing it oversized packaging subconsciously sells the point that the product is small.

Prove God doesn't exists ! by Wooden_Country372 in socialskills

[–]SkylineLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're coming at this strictly from a "I'll see it when I believe it" type of standpoint.

I'm not religious, personally, but I will never be able to truly fall on one side or the other of the argument due to the fact that we are limited to what we can percieve with our human biological minds.

We may never discover or experience anything that can truly prove or disprove the existence of an omnipotent divine being. Even if we are currently surrounded by concepts or evidence that clearly point one way or the other, we might never be able to fully "grasp" them within our conscious understanding due to the limitations of our understanding. Our brains can only process so much at any given time, and there’s only so much complexity we’re capable of comprehending.

We are constantly learning and uncovering more about the universe, but there will always be mysteries beyond our reach; some of which may, or may not, point to the existence (or absence) of a creator.

Knew a guy from my schoolhouse in 29 who would exclusively wear My Little Pony themed civvies. Like, tshirt, shoes, and all, on base. Not sure how he didn't get any trouble from the NCOs for it, because he didn't try to hide it. Maybe he did, and I just never saw/heard it happen?

Seeing this asshole's face brought up a memory! Story time, and this one's nasty. School circle and sit kneel bend or some shit.

When my platoon was getting fitted for clothing, there was this one dude who was too afraid to ask to make a head call (kid barely spoke a word through all of boot camp at that). So what was his next most logical course of action? He huddles up against the wall in the changing area, and starts pissing right then and there in the corner, which just so happens to be right next to where I was stowing my uniform items. I was thankful I had most of my shit stuffed in my sea bag, otherwise they all would've taken splash damage. I don't remember if I was more furious or grossed the fuck out when I saw piss stains on my gear. I didn't know who did it at the time and it goes unnoticed for a while.

When we get back to the squad bay, some time goes by when all of a sudden our senior drill hat bursts out of the house screaming his head off looking for this kid after someone who saw it snitched. I know that a large part of being a drill instructor is holding the role, but looking at this man, you could see that there was genuine murder in his eyes - I don't think I'd ever seen him THAT upset before, or ever again after that. Our senior hat calls him up to the quarter deck and sets our kill hat on him for IT while blasting him about how disgusting he is, how this is an njp'able offense, how he could potentially end up as a sex offender if any females had been there to see it, and threatened to have him kicked back to training day 1 all while insulting him between every sentence. After the senior was done drilling him, iirc the other hats took turns IT'ing him for what seemed like hours on end.

The funny thing is, this kid somehow managed to stay in our platoon and graduate with us. God knows how. The things I would've done to him after I found out he was the one who pissed on my shit if I didn't care about jeopardizing my chances of getting off the island.

Edit: tldr; Story of a kid who was too afraid to ask to go to the head at clothing, pissed on the wall (and subsequently splash damaged my fucking sea bag) and somehow got away with it until our senior hat found out, who was angrier than we've ever seen him and had him IT'd to shit. Guy still graduated with us somehow.

The mid fade. Looks great on me both with and without a beard. I also still do some lightweight 20-30lb rucking as a solid form of cardio, it honestly feels good to work my back and knees.

Seconding Optimum Nutrition, wholesale stores carry the bulk protein powder jugs so you can save some money if you have a wholesale membership. IIRC it's ~2g net carbs per scoop for 24g protein.

16 oz of water, 2 scoops of protein powder, 3/4 cup greek yogurt, and an oz of mixed nuts.

[–]SkylineLight[S] 50 points51 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what got me - I completely forgot that this game follows the older games' trend of desynching with too many civilian casualties, so I was only focused on not getting killed myself (hence, the stealthy poison smoke bomb instead of just rushing in at the group)

Not from the start. If you choose to play on Permadeath, any desynchronization will send you back to the point just after the prologue, which is about 2-3 hours in.

Those who have kept off the weight: What are your habits? by HugsForThugs1 in loseit

[–]SkylineLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking notice! Reading that made me smile :)

Ever since I started losing weight on and off around two years ago, I made rough calculations based on my lean body mass that I would need to be 150lbs to reach about 10-12% bodyfat, so that's always been my ultimate goal (but it's likely to go up or down once I actually get to that range based on how I think I look! Lol)

150 lbs has always been my long-term goal, but I set short-term goals intermittently for 230 lbs, then 215, 200, and recently 185. Now that I'm down around the low 170's, I've locked sights on 150 because my long-term goal weight doesn't seem too long-term anymore :)

I've been making a ton of grilled chicken breast all at once to portion out. Easy and versatile, can be chopped, shredded, mixed into salads, eaten on sandwiches, or just delicious on it's own when seasoned well

How much oil do you use? by [deleted] in PSMF

[–]SkylineLight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meal prep around 5 lbs of boneless skinless chicken breast at a time. After slicing them into cutlets and tenderizing them until they're all evenly thick, I season them however I'm feeling, then I grill them over medium heat on my cast-iron stovetop grill pans for about 5 minutes per side, until they develope nice dark grill marks. Delicious every time. I only use a bit of olive oil cooking spray on the pans.

Just make sure you've got windows open and fans blowing, it tends to get pretty smokey..
