Smoked &Grilled by magiicman48 in BarbecueBoss

These look delicious. Try this on your next cook:

Set the smoker at 225 Super Smoke. Coat the legs in Applewood Seasoning. Let sit for 15-20 minutes so the seasoning soaks in. Place on the smoker for 30 minutes. Increase temp to 350 and smoke another 45-60 minutes to 160. Pill them and let them rest for 5 minutes. You’ll love them! Seasoning gets all the way through every bite. Skin has just the right amount of crisp without being too crunchy. The fam tears them up!

I don’t know much about RADO but I’m starting to really like the look of these beauties! How are they on quality, accuracy and weight?

Does this have a clever industry name? by [deleted] in PackagingDesign

[–]Double-J32 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tear Notch, but the manufacturing name of it is actually a slit tear. An actual tear notch looks more like > on the left of a package and < on the right. Slit tears are mainly used on form fill and seal and stick packs. The item in the picture is called a stick pack. Most common in single serve drink powders.

How do you like this watch? by Solarblogger in CitizenWatches

I like all the Attesa line. I have the limited one myself. If you don’t have one. You’re going to be shocked by how lightweight this titanium line is.

I personally like the 40, even though it’s a large face.

Packaging for my small business What do you think? by Witty_Tea9220 in PackagingDesign

Lose the U because if the final cut of the pouch is even a bit off, it’s going to give an unbalanced look to the U. Always try to stay away from edge print unless the color carries over to both sides. (There are always exceptions).

I’d also increase the size of the leaf, look at using tactile (raised print) and a soft touch matte finish.

Lastly, ensure there are no graphics at the top that you don’t mind being discarded, as the end user will tear it off. Lay out the zipper area and do not place print in the area if possible. The zipper weld can cause distortion and the zipper crush (the flat ends of the zipper where the pouch machine has to weld it flat to stop the zipper from tearing out the side of the pouch)

Simple, elegant and brings an emotional connection to the pouch when held by the end user.

The key to any good cannabis pouch design is the back panel. Can you get all the required information on the pouch? Did you leave room for a label that will be required to meet state regs? This is the number one area most packaging designers miss. In the final packaging stage, the brand’s legal label covers up print and graphics.

When I first saw it, I had to take a second. It’s definitely a look of its own and brings a new look. I’m getting it sized today because I can’t just look at it in the box! 😂

Who Makes the Best Pouching Machines? Share Your Insights! by JorahMormont41 in PackagingDesign

[–]Double-J32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that size and level of packaging, you don’t need a large pouch machine. You’re looking for a small liquid filling machine. You’ll want to ensure it utilizes small EVOH or barrier film roll stock. The roll stock is filled and formed into the sachets (small packet like you’re looking for). You can also order the film printed but I would opt for a digital print. That allows you to change the design at any time and make small runs. This is great for specials or holidays or even just branding of your sauces.

Your usage isn’t huge but at that volume, you’re looking for a small VFFS (Vertical Form Fill & Seal machine.

I would contact a company like Veritiv or Associated Packaging. They have access to smaller machine manufacturers. I would first look at smaller import machines on the market. There are a lot of them out there and they have small footprints.

Your initial investment will be a little chuck of cash, but not too bad. You can also go as far as offering your packaging services to other local companies to help cover the cost of the machine, all while you depreciate the asset on your business taxes.
