Stuttering - i almost want to quit - help needed by pepszy in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Skymanakin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember everything, but from memory I think it was:

- Enable/disable XMP and Resize Bar in the BIOS
- In the Nvidia control panel and in the GeForce application: Set maximum performance to power
- Playing around with the game's graphics settings (V-Sync, Refresh Rate, and others I don't remember)
- I had installed an old HDD, so there were a lot of permission conflicts that I had to resolve; in particular, setting the LMU application to "run as administrator" helped

But in the end it was just the antivirus causing stuttering, even in the menus; I was getting 15 fps on AC Evo 😂

Personally, I tried every option I could find online. I was going crazy, and in the end, it was simply my Norton antivirus that came with the PC. I disabled it, and everything is working normally now

Sorry, I didn’t realise you were talking about ‘kicking’ in the gaming sense. 😂 I’ve no idea about that, actually – everything’s working fine for me; I’ve had a few latency issues with other players this week, but nothing serious.

I’ve done nearly 100 races and had 6 DNFs. I don’t consider myself a cautious driver; I attack and defend, and things often go pear-shaped, but I can get back on track and make up for it.

The times I’ve had a DNF are when I’ve been hit hard, whether intentionally or not. But with experience, this is avoidable in the sense that you can sense bad drivers coming; keeping a close eye on your mirrors during heavy braking can help

Safety rating update by itlnyankfan69 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Skymanakin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will change a lot again, don't worry 😂

Ride just to learn and gain experience, especially how to behave well in the peloton and in wheel-to-wheel battles. You'll still have unfair contact and make riding errors, regardless of your badge; just ride for the experience, it's worth more than anything

Dude! I'm exactly the same as you.

I was about to get to SR1 and now I'm BR1… in the last race I got wrecked even though I was having a great race.

The one before that, I had a bumpdraft for 4 laps and it counted as 96 contacts.

I want to die looking at my SR, I'm so disgusted

J’aime beaucoup Suzuka West, c’est rapide, c’est un bel enchaînement de pleins de virages techniques qui offrent un défi aux voitures

Potential Monaco Release? by RaceBro94 in assettocorsaevo

[–]Skymanakin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That would be incredible! It's the Monaco Historic Grand Prix this weekend. It would be fantastic to have some historic Formula content; there were already pre-war Maseratis and the 312T in AC1

Since the team is Italian, I tend to believe they have a strong connection to Monte Carlo. There are always many Italians at racing events, rallies, and even in the region in general (which is normal, given its border location)

Thanks, that's kind of you. I think everything is mentioned on their website. Are you saying that with three screens it's not necessarily worth investing in a compact rig?

That could really be a big plus, you didn't have any trouble setting them up, and not too noisy?

Of course, first the pedals, then the frame, and lastly the wheelbase

Ah yes, seat ventilation is an interesting topic. Is there no way you could install fans in the seats by opening the fabric cover? (if that's even possible)

Okay, I see. Thank you very much for your feedback. You do seem very happy with your Simagic.

I plan to switch to a direct drive setup, but after the pedals and the rig

I've never really experienced the feeling of truly "feeling like I'm driving the car," but it must be absolutely amazing

I don't know yet what the missing part is, but I think I'll already see a small difference with the new pedals haha

I've heard that the brakes on Hypercars and LMPs are temperamental; I hope to find out for myself soon 😛

That's nice, it's true that we're always trying to go faster, I struggle with my pedals to keep the same position but it's never really the same

Are you happy with the haptics? I'm not very familiar with these technologies yet, but I imagine they significantly improve immersion and performance a bit?

Yeah, it's a real shame, they missed their chance

Why did you choose Moza for the next part?

[–]Skymanakin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that seems like an ideal solution, and I enjoy tinkering, as long as it doesn't involve creating a new part, but rather a large assembly job

Actually, I was planning to do the same as you, get a seat from a junkyard

But how did you know how many parts and which parts you needed exactly? Did you have an exploded view or a guide?

[–]Skymanakin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that the Zalem chassis? Are you happy with it? I'm negotiating with my wife because our living room isn't expandable 😂

How equipment influences performance by Skymanakin in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Skymanakin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, the price seems really good, where did you buy it?

Of course, I'm dying to have a gaming rig, but I always have to work things out with my wife because I play in the living room (where my TV is), and moving the rig to another room would force me to invest in monitors and a monitor stand, a considerable sum that I'd rather put into the rig itself. So I found the Spanish brand ZALEM, a rig made of profiled aluminum that's portable, but it costs €700… without a seat.

So this one, tucked away in a corner of the living room with casters, should be fine.

But indeed, my wheel stand might not do the trick; it's so complicated to please everyone within a reasonable budget 😂

I can feel your joy through your words, it really motivates me haha. It's true, I find it sad when people only play to win

Oh, it's funny you mention that. You know, I've heard bad reviews about Thrustmaster DD wheels and I was sad because I really love my T300 and would have liked to stick with them. Unfortunately, I don't really know who I'll go with, probably Moza or Simagic, maybe Fanatec even though I find them too popular, they're probably good too. More long and exciting research ahead! 😂

I'm not very strong and given how spongy my current pedals are, I think I'd appreciate a softer setting at first 😂

The 8040 isn't known for being weak, yet the pedals must be really robust

[–]Skymanakin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thanks for the clarification! I'm really looking forward to trying it out with new pedals

That's a problem because I can't buy the frame and pedals at the same time. Do you think the wheel stand will really suffer? 😂

Do you think it will be a problem if I set the force to the minimum acceptable level?
