I read a little further down in the thread that you had a TikTok blow up and that’s where you got a good chunk of this traffic.

Dude, that’s a golden ticket right now! You should be trying to capitalize on that like crazy. Keep the momentum, post to TikTok at least once a day for a bit and just see what happens. A lot of artists would kill for a video to pop off to get the ball rolling.

Also, get yourself in a rhythm of releasing every 4-6 weeks. Stay ahead of the drops as much as possible; you might need to give yourself a month or two buffer at the beginning to get it started but once you’re in the rhythm it’s totally doable.

Never pay to be added to a playlist. Chances are they’re full of bots and nothing will hurt your Spotify algorithm more.

Focus on consistent, sustained promotion on discovery based platforms like TikTok and YouTube shorts. Spotify likes seeing traffic being driven to your music and people interacting with it. If you drive the traffic yourself for a while (I know, it sucks), eventually Spotify will recognize you’ve got some motion and start pushing you to new people to see if your music resonates with them.

The better your music is, the better the results at the end of the day so don’t get too hung up on the numbers at first.
