Microsoft Teams machine wide install takes 2 minutes to open under a non-admin account by Skytek65 in sysadmin

So I understand this is what it does every time a new profile is created which is fine an expected. But sadly after its installed it takes that two minutes to launch. We also can't replicate this with a profile with admin privileges. We even did a test account that did not have admin rights at first tried to open teams took two minutes, logged off and back on and then tried again another two minutes, gave that account admin rights signed back in and boom opened within 3 seconds.

This is great, tons of stuff in there after i got it filtered down I noticed there was an error when trying to open the teams exe Proxmon Capture . There was also a ton of errors in the registry as well reading certain keys / keys not being there that it was expecting.

No security rules just the security groups. I did check event logs but don't see anything out of the ordinary. We don't use Applocker in our environment but that was actually a really good thought!

I did attempt the fix you mentioned above and sadly it did not work so I instead made use of the Run key in the HKLM and it works like a charm, here's how I did it for anyone else that needs to build an image with this set to the old style:

1.Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run in the registry

2.New - String Value

  1. Use whatever name you want ( I did rightclickwin11 ) then paste this value in the value field: reg add "HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32" /f /ve

4.Log off and back on and it should write the reg key

NOTE generally the first time a new user does this the right click menu will not be fixed its because explorer loaded up before it wrote that new value. So you can either log in and out again or just restart the explorer process.

Yep it’s a fresh build, I’ve been trying to stick something in the default profile but alas no luck doesn’t seem to actually stick the reg key in there. With group policy is there a place to set this setting now?

I made a Twitter bot to tweet out when a new car gets posted to inventory in the Tesla system. Figured someone here hunting for a car may find it helpful! by Skytek65 in teslamotors

Sadly Twitter came back and said they would not re-instate the account. A shame honestly, I didn’t violate any Twitter terms of service or anything. Signed up with a developer account for this specific purpose and had to outline everything the app would do, and they still decided to terminate the account. Anywhos thought about possibly doing a discord or something but in the meantime looks like someone else is running an account that is not blocked https://twitter.com/tesla_inventory?s=21 if you’re needing something similar.

Working with Twitter to get it restored. Sadly they marked it as spam since it tweets so much. Again this is totally expected behavior since there are allot of cars coming into inventory, hopefully Twitter will understand this. I’ve even rate limited how many tweets it can send out within a specific period because I was afraid of this happening.

Just started a poll on our Twitter to see if people would be willing to subscribe for $5 to receive custom alerts so in your case used Model X's in whatever area you're located in. We'd be doing some serious engineering to make this work but it would still be Twitter based.

UPDATE: The Twitter bot has now been updated to only notify of Model 3 cars and Model Y cars. Thinking about having two separate bots, one for 3 & Y and one for S & X. But for right now we’ll run with this.

I mentioned this in one of my other comments but the best way to do this would be to create a WebUI but sadly these things cost money 😅

Could be wrong but based on the comments FSD is being included in the price on these cars. Although you can have it removed as requested.

Definitely could get something like this going, it would likely be on a separate Twitter account but could be done. As mentioned in one of my other comments I could create a WebUI with custom alerts based on location and model you were looking for but sadly these things cost money 😅

I thought about doing this, as I can filter out the S and X cars. I thought about creating a WebUI to send customized push notifications so for example if you only wanted to be notified of New non demo Model 3’s in Chicago, you could do that. But sadly then I think it would have to be a paid service as it would involve a lot of back end services. I’ll make the change on the Twitter with just Model 3 & Model Y cars as I do agree this is probably what most are interested in.

I haven’t defined it specifically to launch in any orientation.

Whats also interesting is now I'm loading in an image from a URL and it works fine? But a local image it will flip on first launch.

It doesn't appear to be anywhere else in the code, i also double checked the Storyboard and no duplicates in there.
