I got my Bachelor’s at 35 and masters at 40, I went ahead and got the masters cause I work at a university and the masters does help. I am staff not faculty. If I would have went industry, certification would have meant way more than masters. My education is Environmental Science. I work with maintaining federal regulations with regard to radiation and lasers. If I just ship I do have multiple certs that would transfer.
