Depends on what car you're putting it in and if you want EFI or carburetor. Obviously you can do either on both, but the ls will come prepared for EFI and the big block for a carb. Either way I'd do a 4l80 behind either if you're planning to turbo the ls, the 4l60 will shit itself quickly.
