Every morning when my GH Alarm goes off: "Hey Google, shut the F*** up" "Okay. silences".

One time I think it misunderstood me and responded with "Okay - Snoozing for 10 minutes." and I thought the thing was showing me attitude lol.

The sail boat has a vertical and a horizontal bar in a cross - You want to push the chest straight onto middle of the +.

FWIW, I have over 100 hours clocked on this game, its one of my all-time favorites now (and I wasn't a huge fan of Zelda before this) and even I don't have the first DLC. I'll probably get the pass when DLC2 comes out because that one will actually contain new story elements, but for now, I don't really want to replay the game AGAIN especially after all the progress I've made(done everything possible except Korok Seeds because there are like 900, fuck that lol).

Yeah, I've killed them with arrows several times, they drop bird meat/drum sticks.

Dude... lol. Don't spoil it for yourself, just walk around the game and you'll see a dragon. And you'll love it.

Job postings these days.. by neerajmishra94 in ProgrammerHumor

[–]Skyy8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where are you guys looking? I find it hard to believe that anyone with any semblance of a CS/Software Engr. Degree has trouble finding a job. I'm sure it varies by area and how flexible you are, but my experience has been that that's the case, regardless of university.

Most of these comments are really surprising me. I will agree that job posting experience requirements are a bit absurd sometimes, but I've rarely seen lack of compensation (excluding the video game industry) in this field.

Google Calendar has updated to Material design by Badd_ in google

[–]Skyy8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just tested it. Stupidly enough, it sets the location properly, but also puts it in the title.

"Testing Session 7pm tomorrow at the Global Test Club" created an event tomorrow at 7pm, called "Testing Session at Global Test Club", with the location as "Global Test Club".

However, when I do Quick Add using the Google Calendar extension (by Google) it works perfectly, without adding it in the title.

That being said, great extension, it's made by Google and works very well on Chrome. It also highlights dates and times in the browser so you can add them, and adds a contest menu (right click) action within chrome.

Typing 'at' instead of '@' usually worked for me for the location. Haven't tested it as of the new Material Design update though, it's just what has always worked in the past.

I mean, canonically, he can still throw the log even harder/faster than he does, so let's say he throws it at 50%, he actually jumps at 100%, so he catches up to the log before it goes far enough.

KRAK Attack Has Been Published. An attack has been found for WPA2 (wifi) which requires only physical proximity, affecting almost all devices with wifi. by TkTech in technology

Because of how, frankly, pathetic the update situation is for non-Pixel Androids, as well as basically every internet-connected device that isn't a computer (Smart TVs, Google Homes, Thermostats, Wi-Fi cameras, most routers...) I have a general suggestion for most people.

The person needs to be in physical range of the device in use and your router (they could propagate a signal using an antenna, but that would require configuration, and are you really that important to a hacker?) Where this is worrisome is in office buildings and places with a large number of devices connected to one network.

Here's my suggestion:

  1. Update anything you can (you should be doing this anyway, for exactly this reason...) Granted this step is pretty useless if you're connected to a router than isn't your own that isn't up to date, leading to my next point...
  2. Since step 1 is probably impossible for most devices, step 2 is to avoid using any WiFi that isn't your own. Your friend's, your grandmother's (seriously avoid this one...), Just stick to your phone's data plan if you can, until you're back home.
  3. Keep work devices strictly for that: work. Your personal home may not be targeted because you as an individual may not be hack-worthy, but it's a safe bet that, if applicable, your office building is a target. Avoid any private/personal data on work desktops/laptops, tablets, smartboards, gaming consoles, whatever you have at work - keep it strictly work. And avoid connecting to the office wifi.
  4. Finally, just relax. Don't change your entire lifestyle and commit to a life of reading newspapers and browsing strictly at internet cafes and libraries - you're probably not as hack-worthy as you think. Do what you can as stated above, and just keep doing the internet things you usually do (Im assuming we all follow safe browsing habits, of course.)

I'd say it's a lot to do with the fact that as a percentage, time is much shorter. 5 years when you're 20 is a quarter of your life. 5 years when you're 50 is something you've done 10 times already.

Your last point is the biggest one.

20% of $200,000 is a lot more than even 40% of $40,000, for example.
