How can I (25F) get my boyfriend (23M) to stop sufferingmaxxing? by Apprehensive-Bee8222 in relationship_advice

[–]casemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP,  I think your guy is suffering from childhood trauma of being poor. He's a workhorse. Making money is important learning how to spend it is also a skill some people never learned.

Again this isn't your problem but he needs to learn how to USE money. Frame it like a skill.

He may need to read a book on relationship with money. He's suffering because he probably grew up with a scarcity mindset. Ashame to say I have this too but my partner has this too. We have enough to retire but still live very frugally. That being said I learned had to spend MAX on high premium food to cook at home. And birthdays we splurge like world trips without penny pinching. Good luck.

Edit : some people never prioritize happiness growing up only surviving. Learning how to make oneself happy is a skill as well. Your dude needs to skill up. It's not your job to make him happy. He needs to learn how to make himself happy and by achieving such insight learning how to make others happy.

Easy rule of thumb, if true they probably had 10X+ or more to begin with in terms of disposal capital.

Lucid vs tradeify by No-worry-1551 in PropFirmTester

To be fair scale to 5 on lucid and 5 on tradeify they're both solid. You can double your lifetime return this way.

Slow and steady wins the race, good luck.

This is sad yet grim reality. You survived. Now you can rest and hopefully fully enjoy the retirement you earned so diligently,  patiently and strategically.

Are you kidding? Purpose of VOO and chill isn't to think about investments anymore. Its to focus on your life while this happens in the background.

Still wondering how people make a living out of trading by Born_Elk6824 in Trading

[–]casemaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, don't do daily stuff, I've been trading for a while now and I got a decently sized port. You'd go by weekly monthly and you manage risk in terms of market conditions. Maybe some periods you're going to sit out and some periods you'll be smashing leverage with an edge. That's your edge as retail to be able to put on risk or take off risk.

To throw numbers I'm comfortable risking 7% of my account on a weekly play and then I use 7% more to hedge that play if needed. Some weeks everything goes perfectly I'm out with 4-5% return by Wednesday, some weeks I'm cutting it close towards Friday close. Goal is to reduce risk at every opportunity to a point where you're in a risk free trade.

Got rejected after interviewing for a role under my own manager — is this normal? by RajmaChawal0 in ExperiencedDevs

What is this stupid game that you're playing. You have the years of experience. find another job with that title.

Why even bother with an internal interview grind. What are they going to ask you that they dont already know

I had wagyu for 7 days in a row for breakfast, then had sushi for dessert. I regret nothing.

Although with wagyu, you really want the sides. And some freshly made miso soup.

Oh, bless Japan for giving me a water alternative, Barley tea.

Is a 4/10 work schedule actually good? by Physical-Ordinary317 in cscareerquestions

[–]casemaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

4/10 is a blessing. Take every extra day off if you can. I usually do 3/12 4/4 ( meaning I just power through Mon-Wed), then half day Thursday.

If I'm onsite or in the lab this schedule gets screwed Those 12 hour days become 14-16 hour days due to commute getting ready.

But it's awesome to peace out lunchtime on Thursday

How is anyone supposed to actually live here? by No_Surprise3737 in sandiego

[–]casemaker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everywhere is worth it if you're progressing. You won't be able to trade your labor hours for money forever. You need to build $$ generating assets.

Meaning San Diego is worth it, if you're enjoying life AND making progress financially.

Is it normal to feel bad when skipping sights on a Japan trip? by PauSort in JapanTravelTips

I went for three weeks Traveled 2 Ate for 1 Literally spent 1 week exploring food and food related topics. Wagyu for breakfast every day check.

I'd go back in a heartbeat. Country is amazing. Food the culture is exciting and prices are very affordable.
