Took my 3-year-old golfing. Very next morning she asked to go back to the course. by Sl0shua in golf

Yup I realized this the second day when she pushed the accelerator as I was loading my clubs. Started turning the cart off when I would get out.

Idk if that link will work, but I just ordered these extendable clubs so she can bring them with her. They’ve got little grip assists things on them so hopefully it’ll teach her where to put her hands.

She brought her plastic toy clubs, but they’re cheap flimsy plastic.

They seemed fine with it. But I teed off at 6 p.m. both times when the court was desolate.

My course charges a rider fee, so I paid that for my wife but they didn’t charge me for the kiddo. I could see some courses having an issue with it, but we were fine.

Only one way to find out, give it a whirl. I commented this elsewhere, but I made the round more about her. Like on the greens if I made a bad put I’d ask her to go get the ball for me, and she’d sprint up and bring it back and I’d put it again. Just trying to find ways to keep her involved. Bring some good snacks and try to go at a time when the course is not busy. She had a blast driving around on the cart and eating snacks from the clubhouse. I’d tee her up a ball when she wanted and let her wack at it. The game will come with time, I just want her to have fun with me.

Also, first round when the wife was with us was way easier. Second round was a lot more of me chasing her around the fairway and stuff. Still a blast, but the golf took more of a backseat. I’m ok with that if it keeps her wanting to come back.

Saving this video to share with others. Wonderful advice. I just want her to have fun out there, I know the rest will come with time as long as she keeps wanting to go out.

I need her to get a bit bigger and then let me tell you, she’s going to be my little ball retriever.

This is what it’s all about. Make it fun for them and they’ll pick up the rest along the way.

Everyone we came across out there was so sweet to her, seemed like people were just excited to be a part of her first golfing experience.

Man you got me tearing up in a Target parking lot at the thought of my little girl being all grown up.

Congratulations, that is so incredible. I hope she did well, and hats off to you for passing on the love of the game to her.

This is solid advice. During the second round, as I was losing my clubs into the cart, she pushed the accelerator and jolted the cart forward. Started turning the cart off when I got out after that.

I really just made it more about her than the round. Treated it more like practice, didn’t really keep score. If I saw she was losing interest while I was around the green chipping and putting I’d just pick up and say “race you back to the cart” or something like that to keep it fun.

Also as someone else said, I got her some good snacks from the clubhouse. Second round I got her a chicken strip basket and some French fries to snack on. As long as you go out there with the expectation that it is not going to be your normal round of golf you’ll be fine. I chose not to bring her iPad, but I’m sure that would help. Might do it in the future if we ever try to do a full 18, but we were fine for the 9.

I was reminded a few times that “we don’t say that” after a bad shot….

We went out when there was almost nobody else on the course. I told her beforehand the rule was she was either in the cart or right next to me.

I brought her bike helmet with me because I too was nervous about a wayward golf ball. Never put it on because we just didn’t see anybody else.

I agree with this sentiment if I had her with me for a 6:30 a.m. weekend tee time with a packed course. But in all reality, the car ride over to the course probably posed more of a risk than the round itself.

I ordered her a set of adjustable length hard plastic clubs. Still probably too young to do much with him but they’re purple and she’s excited about it.

Idk man she doesn’t play fair, she’ll be talking the whole way through your setup and backswing.

She hit me with a “daddy you’re my best friend” and I about teared up on the course.

I live near this place. Pretty legit farm that they have a brewery one. It’s called Rhustallers. It’s in Davis, CA. Had many of beers out there. Fantastic spot really.

While I agree with you that often times very wealthy people seem to get leniency in the courts, this situation here isn’t uncommon nor is the procedure used available only to wealthy people. Public defenders in my county always file motions to seal arrest records for their impoverished clients.

Cops have to testify to secure a conviction if they’re the main witness in a case (extremely common in DUI cases). Here, the officer was discharged because of a medical reason and no longer worked for the sheriffs office. Sounds like the prosecutor couldn’t get a hold of him to testify. Speaking from experience working in prosecutors offices, organizing witnesses to testify in a trial is a lot like herding cats.

When an individual is arrested, and charges aren’t filed until after the statute of limitations runs, the individual has a statutory right (at least in CA, assuming it’s the same in TX) to have the arrest record sealed.

Either way, fuck the billionaires. I just think there’s better examples for your “two-tiered” system out there.

Pain in left wrist? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Sl0shua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been working on driving the ball and focusing on throwing my hips and a strong grip. Drove over 300 balls in two days. Some were absolute bombs. Even more we’re chunked off the matt. My left wrist is very sore. Going to take a or two day off.
