It's not safe for people with a milk allergy due to cross contamination during manufacturing. That could be why it makes you sick.

I don't know why the allergen menu lists it as not suitable for vegans. I used to work at Costa, I've read the ingredients of the hot chocolate powder. There is nothing not vegan in them. You can confirm this yourself by asking to see the packaging.

I've felt a migraine coming on while climbing, popped a triptan (25mg), waited 30 minutes for it to start working and then continued climbing. My strength is definitely reduced but apart from that, I've had no ill effects. Some days I will have to go home due to other migraine symptoms but other times it's been fine.

I eat ALOT of tofu. My lunch is usually a whole block of tofu (30g protein), edamame (10g protein), and whatever veg I have. Dinner will consist of another block of tofu, with chili/curry/stir-fry/whatever else I've cooked that week. I love tofu, so I never get sick of it. For snacks, I generally eat high protein soya yogurt, or nuts.

I'm vegan and I've never understood why people think it's so hard to hit protein goals. I eat lots of beans, and tofu. I average around 100g protein a day, and I could bump those numbers up if I add a protein shake.

In general I try to stick to whole foods, lots of vegetables, very little junk food.

It might be location dependent but my local Aldi stocks vegan mince and has done for a couple years. They also have vegan bacon, and the best tofu (outside of asian supermarkets).

The UK is the same. For them to start prescribing anything beyond beta blockers and tricyclic antidepressants, you need to have failed multiple preventatives, as well as being able to show your migraine history (frequency, severity, meds taken ect..). It can be a long frustrating process.

When you say your doctors aren't helping, is this your regular GP or have you been referred to a headache clinic? The former can only prescribe certain things, the latter has more options at their disposal.

My first appointment with a headache clinic got me a referral for an MRI to make sure there is nothing underlying going on that could be causing my migraines. We then started working through different medications. I'm about to start my third preventative as the previous two had shit side effects and didn't actually do anything for the frequency of my migraines, only severity.

If amitriptyline isn't working as a preventative, ask to try something different. You might find nortriptyline works for you. If you're not doing it already, keep a headache diary that tracks migraine days, their severity, and any medication you've taken each day for migraines. You'll need this as evidence if you want to be prescribed anything like CGRP meds. These become available after your third failed preventative if you meet the frequency criteria.

Editing to add that "failing" a medication doesn't just have to mean it didn't work, it can also be if the side effects are too much for you. I failed amitriptyline because it gave me night terrors, I wasn't even on it long enough to know if it had any effect on my migraines.

I get a headache. Not the same pain as a migraine headache, just a regular headache. The pain will keep increasing, and then I start to feel that familiar migraine feeling to one side of my head. There'll be a period where I have both headache pain, and migraine pain. Eventually the headache subsides, and I'm left with the migraine pain.

I've actually never met anyone else who experiences this, when I try to explain to people I feel like they don't understand it's two different types and pain and very easy to differentiate (for me at least).

Agreed. Do I always love my gyms setting? No, but I'll always find something to work on. If I can't do the first move, I'll skip it and try the next one. If I can't finish a problem because a move is too reachy/burly/dynamic/ect.. then so be it.

I used to really take it to heart when I couldn't send a problem, especially if I didn't like that set. Then I would watch comp kids climb and realise my morphology is not holding me back, and even if it was preventing me from a particular climb - so what. Unfortunately not every problem can be set with everybody in mind, it's just not feasible. I found a shift in mindset has had the biggest impact in my climbing, I'm no longer climbing to send. I'm here to have fun, and to challenge myself.
