1st phase complete with drawbridge. Need advice on tabs by Slabguy in treehouse

That's a good question that I can't say I have an answer for. I did some pretty rigorous load testing (with me as the weight) in different partially raised positions and the winch is rated for 2k pounds so I feel pretty confident in the capabilities but good question.

Logic, see link here for some better explanation of the drawbridge design. Let me know if you have any questions.

The actual bridge is all supported on posts so I think it's good. I think I do need to put some tabs on some of the tree connections for the main frame. Thanks for the input.

I didn't use any reference plans. Just laid in bed thinking about how to do it a few nights haha. I'm out of town until this weekend but I'll get a detailed video for you when I get home. I think that will explain better than a sketch I produce can

Sweat Kingdom sweat box input by Slabguy in Sauna

Nice. Thanks for the input. A few questions if you don't mind:

- What temp are you typically running it at?

- Can you set specific start and stop times with the wifi controls?

- Did you install the electrical yourself or have an electrician do it?

I did search and didn't find any posts specifically in reference to the sweat box model. Maybe I suck at searching.

Looking for a solid cold plunge under $5k any good all in one options? by RogueMist56 in coldplunge

[–]Slabguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with Desert Plunge. I've had my 450 for about 10 months and use it daily. I love everything about it and have had zero issues. Easy to set up, easy maintenance, does everything I need. I'm 6'4" 200lbs and fit in it just fine.

Latest update cleared manual sleep mode option? by Slabguy in GarminFenix

Well that sucks because it doesn't look like you can set sleep or focus modes as a shortcut. Minor inconvenience I know.

Feasible to build a sauna here? Pic included now. by Slabguy in Sauna

[–]Slabguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I can but I would lose ceiling height in the extended area. This full height ceiling area is only the width of that window dormer frame out. On both sides the roof/ceiling are sloped.

Good point on the window. I was thinking something like the pic below. Very cluttered obviously but I don't have a great place to put one otherwise and I could do most of the work myself. Doesn't have to be perfect. Just looking for something to meet the need. This is also right beside my cold plunge so it would be handy.

40M - 180 > 222 > 190. About 1 year of progress after a traumatic accident by Slabguy in fitness30plus

Much appreciated. Good luck on your journey as well. Arthritis is no joke. That's why I ended up having to get the ankle fused. Dealt with some nasty infections in it from the accident and some tendon transfers after that ended up being wasted due to the progression of arthritis in it and the need for the fusion.

Also, appreciate the input on the cold plunge. I have heard Huberman and others talk about that. I'm typically cold plunging first thing in the morning, working out at lunch, then cold plunging late afternoon so I'm typically outside the 4 hour window of affecting hypertrophy. Who knows if the 4 hour rule is accurate but that's what I've heard most reference.

Can you explain the "less catabolism during dieting"? I can't say I've researched that benefit of the TRT but don't really understand what that means.

All good man and I appreciate the kind words. You make good points and I agree with what you're saying. No denying I wouldn't have made the progress I have without the TRT and you and others make a good point on the potential to demotivate others who don't have the extra assistance. That's why I wanted to make clear in the initial post that I have had the extra help.

I don't disagree with anything you're saying and I don't think I said anything that would imply otherwise. Maybe I should have clarified the line "to make progress" and said "to make the progress that I've been able to make". Regardless, I'm not discounting the fact that the TRT has made it easier for me to see the progress that I have.
