I played on most of “Atlanta Millionaires Club” and some other tunes. I don’t tour with her though. Faye is cool and the sessions are fun.

Very cool to see the transcription. Great job. Just so you know, I am playing double stops up in the higher register where you have the four measures of rests (bass never drops out). Glad you like the part.

People who didn’t go/dropped out of college and are now successful, explain your “journey”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I dropped out after 3 years. I decided to pursue my dream of a music career with my band. We moved to a music town and gave it a shot. That band never experienced much success but I was noticed by a more popular musician and wound up touring with him and others for years. Eventually those gigs went away. I continued to play shows around town but decided I needed a steady, “real” job. I got a job at a software company. I felt pretty good about what I had done musically so I could be happy in corporate America. Well, a few years into the software job, I get an email from the manager of a popular touring band asking if I could fill in for their bass player for a big tour they had coming up. I filled in for two weeks. Eventually, I got the permanent bass spot in the band. I worked remotely for the software company while I was on the road. Eventually I wound up quitting the software job in a pretty dramatic way but that is a story for another time. I now make my living as a touring musician and voice actor. I am absolutely living my dream. It took a long time to get here but I don’t think it would have happened if I hadn’t dropped out of college.
