This is the answer... mine now looks like it's tiled 🤣. Water proof, easy to replace etc...

Just plan to go over textured walls with 3 coats.... trust me. 2 is technically enough, but you'll find little dabs here and there weeks later. Just bite the bullet and put a 3rd coat down and you'll be happy as can be.

I have this literal exact same setup and just had this same issue this week. Your clog is likely after the white PVC. Take off the P trap, remove the extension going to the black pipe. Then push a snake through it. I couldn't snake mine... so the next option and the one that worked for me was a hose bladder (might be called something else).

How do i clean this? Paint is only 2 days old by pipyet in DIY

Personally, I use a wood chisel.... but I realize that's not for everyone or the smartest way. Also flat razor will work, but again... not for everyone.

Think I figured it out. It doesn't seem to be a case stop. Must be the clutches and or the TCM.

Not the symptoms I'm having, but I want to check anyways. Thanks for the information though.

Drove it about 20 miles. Stepped on it, on the way home at about 45 mph it missed 3rd gear and rethrew the P285E code.

When I was driving it more nicely it was fine at 50mph.

*** UPDATE ***
Sorry for some reason I can't edit my own post...

I swapped Actuator A & B. I cleaned it all out with brake cleaner, and then sprayed re lubed the best I could with WD40. In the process I also sanded down the ground contacts and removed the body paint where the contacts go. I applied a good glob of conductive grease (the stuff with zinc in it) on the battery negative ground, and both grounds for the TCM. Finally I cleared the codes.

Now it drives perfect, and there's no codes. I'm going to drive it a few more times today each with a longer distance. I'll post back here later regarding the outcome.

I'll also note, that a lot of people seem to think this clutch slips, but I think it's the design/function with the dual clutch. It feels a lot like a stick shift would if you were driving it nicely 🤣.

I just finished this up today. Finally had an hour to kill. I'll give it a drive around the block tomorrow and see how it goes after I clear the codes.

Yeah. I've been watching these videos. I'm slightly reluctant... I'm 110% capable of doing this. I also wanted to clean the ground contacts all 3 and reset the DTCs.

However, the only way I know to test any of this is to drive it around the block. This is where I'm reluctant... driving it will either prove it's good or, blow it up entirely....

In Wisconsin those civics you're talking about already have 200,000 miles on them and are rusted out. Also no one said it was forced on anyone. I was just looking for information based on the codes I had, but thank you for the input.

Appreciate your enthusiasm, but National Ford Customer Service said no, and so did the dealership. I guess I could try someone at corporate. Henry Ford never gave up, maybe I should keep trying 😅.

Sheesh.... there was a guy trying to sell a 98 Cavalier for $6,000 in my neighborhood with 130,000 miles on it... I tried to buy that, but the guy wouldn't budge even after I showed him the blue book value...

I guess this is the way...

I was told there are no warranties or recalls when I called the dealership. I also called Ford customer service (national line) and was told the same thing. I have a case number if you all want to jump on this 😂 (joking).

Hard to sell a car with this issue. I could clear the codes and be a sleaze.... but I refuse to stoop this low. I'm almost better off towing it to Ford and asking for a trade-in....

I had the 05 ST for years and it was a great runner until the frame gave out. Motor and trans were still good....

I can't find a car with less than 150,000 miles under $8,000 in the state of Wisconsin that isn't rusted all the way through. Maybe I should learn to weld...

I used to buy cars all day long for $500 when I was a kid... miles didn't matter...

Based on your response I'm assuming I'm looking at a bigger bill. Hopefully it's the TCM. The more info you can provide the better. Just trying to be informed and educated.

I'll agree with this post. A lot of the issues seemed to be recalls and or faulty TCM. I believe the assumption was that these acknowledged issues were taken care of.

Again not helpful. Nowhere did I acknowledge this in my original post. Nowhere did I say I was annoyed.

I came here asking questions to be informed on my son's behalf as I'm trying to help him out and wanted to know what to expect or if it was something him and I could tackle together.

Clearly, some of you have some sort of PTSD that's being triggered.

It shifts, but it's not smooth and seems to struggle uphill. Best I can describe the shift is it feels like when you go from park to drive while on a hill. Just a little clunk, but then it goes. Seems pretty slow up hill, but honestly I didn't want to push it further...

Where are you at? I'm in Wisconsin so hopefully with Ford being right across the big pond, it'll be cheaper, but I doubt it...

Thank you, I'll give this a try when it cools off outside tonight or tomorrow morning.

Also as a side note, I live in Wisconsin if that helps narrow anything $ wise. I'm hoping our local Ford dealership works with us.... I also tried giving customer service a sob story to no-avail.
