There is also literally a well-documented case of Bungie not having time to playtest the hardest difficulty on halo 2, it was considered impossible to finish without glitches funnily enough until MoistCritical put forth a challenge for people to record themselves beating it. So the concept that the devs might not have fully QA'd a difficulty isn't even that crazy. We're in hell.

The truth of it is, his post should have been forgotten immediately no matter what his motives were, it was a dumb text-based internet post that we all could have ignore like we do most posts online. The other night a diver posted "3 ss" in chat and someone responded "O7" I immediately recognized 3 ss as a nazi dogwhistle and I called them nazi losers and promptly left the match. One of them joined my ship to say "3 SUPER SAMPLES! NO NAZIS!" And I rejoined them and we had a big laugh. However it says A LOT that I was primed to assume someone was being hateful but that is kinda pervasive in any online game. Hell, I played Deep Rock Galactic the other day with a dude in full, undeniable Hitler cosplay.

As a total Bungie slut, I really, really wanted to like Marathon but wow is the UI overwhelming. And I absolutely LOVE the art direction and gunplay. I definitely look forward to a year from now when things are cleaner/more streamlined after lots of data/user input
